We had an exceptional experience because of the outstanding staff, who went above and beyond to provide personalized, friendly, professional, warm, 5-star service. The hotel is in a great location, feels like a boutique hotel experience combined with all the amenities of the upscale W brand. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed. We love this hotel and will definitely be back again soon.

Staff overall was incredibly helpful and kind. Very sincere. My room was immaculate. My food from STK was overcooked and disappointing. Definitely not worth $50. Barely edible.

My review is in the title, the rooms are nice, the minimal staff interaction polite and professional, but that doesn't mean much when my room isn't available at check in time, and I can't get anything to eat or drink after 11pm, not forgetting that this particular W is in the middle of nowhere relative to restaurants and stores. Rooms are nice! You can detect the former dorms, but it's fine.

I would prefer to give a rave review however to be honest I was surprised that there wasn't always someone available to pick up the phone or answer the chat on the app immediately. I don't know the reason why there were excessive delays in reaching the valet or the front desk. Use the BONVoY app when you can't get through to someone via the valet text number or the hotel direct dial.

The hotel was dated and showed wear in the room. I was upgraded to a suite, but the room was awkward. The TV in the master was tiny and nearly impossible to see. The AC also didn’t work well. The worst part was that the toilet had dirty toilet paper in it when I checked in, and I had to clean it. I provided a photo to the front desk via email but was not offered anything to compensate for the inconvenience.

Selected the hotel for its convenience when participating in the Los Angeles Marathon. The valets were impeccable! "Joe" (front desk was unbelievable! Even the maintenance person was equally as attentive with our needs related to the TV remotes and power sockets! Love this place! We already rebooked to stay this upcoming weekend!

I would highly recommend this property. Greg and Joanna were two staff members that stood out for their personality and knowledge of the property. I really enjoyed the mega 2 bedroom suite and the convenience of the valet. This property is a "must stay" if in the LAX area.

I had an awesome time visiting the W for a business trip. The rooms were large and clean, loved the design of the stairs and the visuals in the entrance way. Would have loved a bath, but may have been the room I booked. The team made me feel welcome at all times - special mention to Dre at the outdoor restaurant who offered up loads of local recommendations. Food was great, pool isn't huge but very clean and always lots of towels available. We'll be coming back!

This hotel was so inviting and helpful throughout my stay. From the engineer that fixed my lighting to the food delivered to my room. nothing was a issue and happy to make sure I was taken care of and felt welcome and safe. I had gone to two hotels prior nearby and was not impressed and was over joyed by the welcome and service and loved the room, food and service. I travel allot and this is worth every penny. Great style and environment and trust me I am very selective. Brekelle Lavee' Long FLOWER+HEWES Gallery

This was our first visit to this hotel and we were very impressed with the quality of our interactions with the staff, the dining options and amenities. The hotel is situated in a convenient area close to UCLA and has been recently updated. The gym is well stocked and features Peloton cycles, ample free weights and treadmills. We were treated to top notch service throughout. All of our needs were met during this stay.

The property is great, the staff is wonderful… however there is no individual ac/heat control in the room. This is awkward because there is a thermostat in the room, but it doesn’t control anything. Even engineering came to “help” but said the building is just set to one temperature setting.

Our stay at the W was very nice. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Proximity to UCLA campus is unbeatable. We did not dine at the hotel so have no comment on the food. The valet staff was prompt and friendly, however plan for a $55 overnight parking fee each day. Parking coming out to be equivalent to 20% our nightly room rate is outrageous.

I have stayed at the W several times in different cities and the hotels have been beautiful. This hotel in Beverly Hills was no better than a Holiday Inn. The food and coffee is all served in plastic. I received coffee appropriately in a pot one day and the next day that was no longer available (there were no coffee pots in the rooms).

On December 18th, since our room was not ready we got into the room after 4:20pm even though we had arrived at 3:00pm which was the official check-in time. The hotel confirmed that it would not happen again our upcoming stay, but it turned out to be even worse on December 25th. We tried to check in on 3:00pm again, but we notified that our room was not ready yet again yesterday. So we needed to wait more than an hour. Then, the hotel let us get into our room, but it was not fully cleaned, the water was leaking in the bathroom, and there was no coffee machine in the room. So we complained about it. Then, the hotel said they looked for another room available, so we needed to wait another 30 minutes again. Finally, we got into our new room around 5pm yesterday. That was one of the worst experiences of the Christmas holidays for our family. I do not understand the reason why we could not get into our room at the official check-in time, 3:00pm, TWICE in the last week.

The staff were very nice. The lobby was fine. The elevators and halls were fine. When we arrived in our room it was a bit run down. Leather worn off the sofa and a tear in it. The walls were scuffed up in so many places from maybe luggage. The baseboards were almost completely destroyed in the bathroom. The shower door almost fell and it was very difficult to open and close without brute strength. The shower head would not move much so I was getting a face full of water. It was quite expensive for such a run down hotel.

The mega suite was all we could hope for and more. It was so spacious and beautifully decorated. On top of having 2 separate bedrooms and full bathrooms, there was a table with chairs, 2 living room areas with sofas, a desk area, 2 wet bars and 4 TVs! Plenty of room for our family to hang out, spread out and get ready for the wedding we were in LA for. We only had coffee there so I cannot rate the food.

Came with my girlfriend and really hoped it would be a luxurious hotel experience. Overall there was really nothing special at all about the stay. The room was just average. Besides the modern lights the basics are pretty much the same as a hotel that costs 1/3 the price. I just hoped for a more impressive experience. It was really not worth the cost. Valet parking ended up being nice to come and go but you pay $60 after tax so it should be good. Just wish there was next level touches. I’ve stayed in some very nice hotels and this landed sort of right in the middle of every hotel I’ve stayed.

Upon arrival the staff is warm, friendly and inviting! At the restaurant, breakfast lunch or dinner, the staff is equally amazing! Rooms are always very clean ( although some need touching up due to the people that stayed during the pandemic that thought they could treat the hotel like a junk yard…terrible!) In all, location is great, the staff always make you feel like family!

Location is great. Staff were very courteous from valet to the front desk. Checking in was a breeze. Ate downstairs at STK then had drinks at the bar. Spacious room. Great shower. My view could have been better but hey I can’t have it all. Great experience. I really enjoyed my stay.

Great location with nice poolside bar. STk has great steaks. Service was excellent in every area. The fitness area is small but comprehensive. The hotel decor needs updating. There needs to be some decision on pot smoke in the lobby or investment in a major air purifier/ ventilation system.

What a wonderful way to send our daughter off to college with a stay at the W Los Angeles, it did not disappoint. From the valet staff to front desk, F & B and housekeeping, all top notch. After our first morning at breakfast, the staff knew our names and how we took our coffee...and the food/service at STK/Hideout, fantastic! Our room was quite large and very comfortable. (I have also previously stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with the Murphy bed and would agree that they need to rethink the sleeping configuration in that floorpan). With that said, we will be returning several times a year to visit our daughter and are looking forward to our visit next month!

WLover./ 5Le 08/19/2021 à 00:00
Our stay was enjoyable but the hotel is in desperate need of room updates/improvements. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite which I have stayed in before. The couch in the living area was very worn with cracks all over the upholstery. These couches are not comfortable to sit or lounge on. The second bedroom has a murphy bed. I would encourage the hotel rethink this space. Take out the murphy bed and put in a regular queen or full bed. The guest that sleeps in this room does not have adequate space. There are no side tables or dresser. Just an awkward armoire. The lighting is horrible with no switches on the wall to easily turn on lights. I realize that this room was originally thought of as and office, but there wasn't a desk. Make this room into a proper guest room with a proper bed and proper bedding. Guests who are getting this room, need bed space and not a separate office space. The bathroom vanity is terrible. Oversized sink with no vanity space for two people. and no storage for towels. Walk in shower was good. I like the plantation shutters on the windows but in the bedroom space, need to have a room darkening shade to block out morning sun. I love the pool at this hotel and I love the outside restaurant. Food and atmosphere is great! Change the name back to the backyard from the hideout. The Backyard sounds cool. The Hideout doesn't really describe the space. The outdoor restaurants needs to have some more casual/less expensive dinner options. The inside restaurant already provides guest with a more elegant dinner menu. Please offer guests dining at the outdoor restuarant with a couple of sandwich/burger options. We were going to eat dinner there on our last night but everything was outrageously expensive. Ended up walking into Westwood for dinner which was lovely, but would have like to have the option to eat at the hotel without having to spend $200 for dinner for 2 people. I have been coming to this hotel for 7 years. I would love to see the rooms improved and possibly expand the workout area. Potentially relocate the workout area to an area with natural light as this area is very dark and small. Really hoping to stay at the hotel again and anxiously await improvements.

I checked in for a two day stay congruent to a red carpet event nearby. My conversation at check-in was convivial but felt a little like I was getting the rundown before spring break. I’m almost 60 years old. Everything after checking in went wrong. Upon landing in my suite, it felt like it was unfinished and not quite clean. I travel for work and I’m used to accomodations that feel and smell crisp and fresh upon arrival. This room was neither. Within the first hour, a workman attempted to enter the room to do something to “the wires”. He said he thought it was empty. I usually put a DND on the door but there was none in the suite. There was no paper at all in the room (other than toilet paper & tissue), which I understand given the pandemic but I would have loved a small sign or a conversation at check-in letting me know where to get all that info. The entire time, when I ordered food, I and the receipt was addressed by the wrong name - “Mr. Doughty”. My Wagyu burger was missing the egg and the poached egg was too hard. They made it right - it took a while. There was a long mark on the wall in the entryway. My stylist, makeup artist and manager all noted it and the general state of the suite. The outer hallway that I and my guest went through to the restaurant was full of lawn detritus and some paper trash. I do not normally or regularly complain. And frankly, I’ve never experienced such a perfect storm. I spoke to the manager about these issues and misspoke about another hotel stay, mistaking my long stay at a wonderful Loews in Atlanta with your W hotel chain. Nevertheless, I’ve stayed at a lot of 4-5 star hotels. For business or pleasure, this stay was the most disappointing. Ever.

Service can make or break your hotel experience. Sayyora welcomed us in the middle of the night with such grace and kindness. Highly recommend!

Overall, my experience was poor due to a lack of hospitality and aging room. Staff would eventually help with a request if pushed, but I never got the sense that they were there with a desire to make my stay an enjoyable one. Rather, that they were the gatekeepers to accomplish a task, which made me wait to avoid interaction. Probably not what they want the brand to embody. Disappointed is the word I would use to sum up my experience. Lobby was beautiful. Valet worked great. Did not interact with housekeeping. Food and drink at the pool was disappointingly tiny portions for the price.

The staff was very welcoming and made our stay better with each interaction. the Pool restaurant was very good, well-sized portions, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The room we had, two double beds due to traveling with my family, was average size for the old parts of LA. My family of four were comfortable and never felt cramped at all. The decor was trendy but is starting to show its age. The coach in the room was white, showed a lot of wear, cracked, and dirty. It is a white coach so some blemishes are to be expected, but the cracks and dirtiness were not expected at a W.

This was our first getaway since the beginning of the pandemic and we booked a Mega Suite for two nights. We were greeted warmly at the front desk and moved up to the suite quickly. We arrived in a wonderfully large space with a fantastic view of Westwood and UCLA. Everything felt clean and the hotel policies keep everyone safe. We noticed the smoke detector was chirping, so we tried to reach the front desk to have someone come and fix it. One phone did not work and once we found a functional phone nobody at the front desk answered. Twice. This would be a recurring theme as we tried to reach the desk by phone later in the stay and nobody answered yet again. Once I went back down to the lobby, the staff were wonderful and ensured the problem was immediately addressed. The accommodations in the suite are a bit dated. Peeling wallpaper, poor lighting and an inexplicably small television in the master bedroom. Think that one scene from The Office. The living room and second bedroom have very nice TV's so I do not understand how the master could be so inadequate. All of these issues combine to make the master the least inviting of the spaces within the suite. The bathrooms are generously appointed. However, in the master, the toilet is facing a giant mirror. A very strange choice at best. Also, there is a TV in the bathroom that faces nothing in particular and cannot be titled towards the extra large soaking tub. In short, given the size of the suite, the room could be great, but it fell way short of expectations. Especially compared to some of the other W properties I have stayed in over the years. The property itself also feels a bit tired and in need of a refresh, but the pool and bar/restaurant areas are great. There is a solid gym space with plenty of equipment to meet most needs for a workout. I imagine if I have to stay in this area again, I would probably look at other options before returning.

We love the W hotel and stay there whenever we can while we're traveling, sometimes even for staycations in-town. So when we saw there was one located in the middle of Beverly Hills we expected a really swanky experience (c'mon, its Beverly Hills). Unfortunately though, that's not what we got. Instead, it was more like a Courtyard Marriott with cool art, in a really nice side of town. The Pros: Shawn was the woman who first greeted us and got us checked in. Throughout our stay she was super helpful, giving us really good recommendations and making sure we had what we needed. The outside of the hotel is also really well-maintained, with beautiful vine coverage and colorful lights framing the entrance. Definitely a great spot for pictures The Cons: The room was very basic and structured in a strange way (we had a studio, I forget which one), with a lot of unused space. The windows were dirty so while the view of the hills was nice, it was a little hard to take it in in all its glory. The towels were not soft and didn't smell fresh (BIG problem). The process for ordering room service was a bit buggy because you had to order through a 3rd-party website and add your room number. And lastly, the valet service was a bit unorganized and we ended up having to wait 20 minutes the first morning to find someone and get our car.

This Marriott has, by far, the best staff of all the Marriott’s I have stayed at to date and I have stayed at a lot of Marriott’s as a Platinum member! Every staff member from housekeeping, valet, front desk and bell were just excellent! They were friendly, kind and would anticipate your every need! Literally!! Like they had eyes on the back of their heads! Seriously, and kudos to the GM on training and coaching! The hotel itself is in a great location for leisure and business! Within walking distance to restaurants and the business district! Very nice and safe area! Hotel is older but kept up nicely! Lobby has a cool vibe! Rooms are clean and bright! They could use renovating but it’s not a deal breaker at all! Just needs to be refreshed! Food at the hotel is also excellent! Head chef came to our table and asked about our dining experience! The level of care is just beyond anything I have ever experienced at a hotel!

My husband and I stayed here for a medical procedure he was having at UCLA medical center Westwood campus. It was an easy 10 minute walk (half mile each way), and a really pretty place to be during a stressful occasion. We ordered room service and had amazing food! Top-notch chef here! The staff was so friendly! We had an issue with the TV and the maintenance guy was really kind and helpful. The pool area is gorgeous and the neighborhood is really pretty.

Top notch, modern, contemporary hotel.
