  The Davenport is a hotel from another era, the turn of the 20th Century when Spokane was growing as a city transited by the developing railroads of the west. It has been lovingly brought back to life and it a comfortable, timeless classic hotel. The lobby and its self guided tour are not to be missed and better enjoyed at your leisure while you are a guest at the hotel/. Absolutely wonderful!

  This hotel is simply phenomenal. The beautiful decor and historic pieces make for a great ambience. The rooms are spacious and high end. The peacock lounge was a great place to enjoy drinks and appetizers. Couldn’t recommend this hotel any more. 7 stars out of 5

  Great place. Top shelf and I’ve stayed at numerous 5 star hotels. The issue is service. No linen service unless you stay 5 days and requests for additional items we poorly resolved in my opinion. The hotel should replenish coffee cups and wine glasses and I had to request towels twice and never did get wine glasses on request. Also ran out of coffe cups after day one.

  The Davenport is awesome. Food, drinks, all around amazing atmosphere. The booking process is unfortunately through Marriot, not easily done, especially while traveling. It would be so nice to be able to call the hotel itself and book with a local person. Being directed to a call center with long wait times was very unpleasant. Definitely recommend the hotel, just wish the booking was more efficient.

  My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful three day stay at the Historic Davenport. The staff were wonderful and saw to our every need at all times. The restaurant serves incredibly tasty food, and the hotel decor was breathtaking. My wife and I often commented how the combination of locale and eagerness to assist of the staff made us feel like we were living an episode of Downton Abbey.

  Walking into the Historic Davenport Hotel is like stepping back a century. The entire lobby is a testament to lost craftsmanship and a comfortable, welcoming place to spend time. The Palm Court is a romantic place for dinner, especially by the fireplace. (Menu has some winners -- salmon, crab cakes; and losers -- skip the fish & chips and the ham sandwich.) The Peacock Bar was lively with excellent drinks. Our room had an antique-style bed, large and very comfortable. Bathroom was spacious, with a sunken tub as well as a shower. I prefer bars to liquid soaps and, fortunately, had a small one with me. The Covid restrictions are taken too far with no room cleaning while you are there. Three days of trash is annoying. Fresh towels are available if you call, which I did. Each time an incorrect number was delivered. (I know hotels are saving money with reduced maid service, but at a hotel of this quality it diminishes the experience.) Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

  I’m a bit of a history buff so I was thrilled to find out about the storied past of the Davenport. Was even looking forward to a ghost or two. Alas, that was not to be. However, my stay was absolutely enjoyable & restful. My room was very clean despite my early check in request it was ready by the time I arrived a little bit after noon. One of the highlights of my stay is the peacock room where I enjoyed several meals, as well as room service. The staff was incredibly attentive and professional. I never had to wait for a long time to get a drink or food order. The quality of the food was also excellent. A real favorite was the crab louie. And the fries are out of this world. I had it at every single meal. Check in and check out were both very quick and painless. The hotel was incredibly busy during my stay so it was understandably noisy. However, this did not impact my stay at all. I got plenty of rest, thanks to the incredible king bed and fluffy pillows provided. I look forward to staying at the Davenport again, and will highly recommend this to friends.

  We've stayed here twice over the past few years and always leave wanting more time! This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, with a prime location downtown within walking distance to incredible restaurants, a great mall, and even the First Interstate Center of Performing arts! We were able to park at the hotel and walk everywhere we wanted to go. The Davenport BED is to die for! We really enjoyed taking time to do the self guided walking tour of the building, highly recommend. The drinks are wonderful. The food was great, priced for what one would expect at a place like this. My husband particularly loved the pancakes! they are exceptional! When we were there we noticed there is a gym being built and that will be an exciting addition to the place.

  We have been staying at the Historic Davenport for years - every time we come to Spokane. The hotel is lovely and has an ambience that you rarely find any more. Since it became part of the Marriot group, we have noticed a decline in the attention to detail such as dusty furniture in the rooms, trash left in the waste cans, etc. Now that Covid is over, we hope to see it return to its magnifesence. The front desk staff is great, the food service people are great - but the food is average at best. We come to Spokane often and don't want to stay any where else, but if the decline continues, we will.

  We came for the performance of Wicked. We had a suite and it was a great experience. The staff was efficient and as I am sure you are aware, the space in the Mezzanine is awesome!! I also ran the Bloomsday course twice-once each day we were there. Since the starting line is right outside your entrance, it was also a fun experience. The small kitchen area was perfect for our morning coffee and breakfast. We are teachers and wish that we could do this more often. In fact, this is the first time in my 30 year career I have done this-so I hope I win the lottery as I would love to come back. It was a present for my wife's birthday. She is older now, but I am not sure she is wiser...I'm darn sure I'm not!

  Came here for the first time with my S/O for our anniversary and my early birthday celebration. The mobile check in was very convenient and our room was ready before the original check in time. Staff was super friendly, and the service was all around outstanding! Looking forward to our next stay!

  Outstanding staff at the Historic Davenport. You all possess the height of professionalism and hospitality, bringing the realization as to just how rare that has become. Also, Incredibly clean. A tight ship has to be run to maintain such a historic space without letting wear and tear become prevalent. A gorgeous hotel with the most impressive history seeping through each hall, particularly the Hall of Doges, of course. The ballrooms allow you to step into a perfectly preserved capsule of ornate luxury. The Marie Antoinette Ballroom feels like a dream. Photos really do not do this hotel justice. You know this hotel has me feeling like royalty when this review was written in a completely different tone than my normal vernacular. Highly recommend.

  We decided to do a Valentine’s getaway even though we live in Spokane. I have frequented the Davenport Hotels throughout the years and I’ve come to love them all and their individual characteristics. Checkin was smooth and easy, Emilee was absolutely amazing. We had dinner in the Palm Court, which I’ll admit, I’ve had better dinners elsewhere. But it wasn’t terrible. The room was super clean and didn’t look like hundreds of people have stayed in the room prior to us. A perfect hotel for a mini staycation.

  Beautiful hotel with great decor throughout, including the rooms. Courteous staff as well. But the key reader replacement has to be a maintenance priority. Took me an average of probably 10 or more tries everywhere I had to use my key, including elevators.

  Apparently this really means a lot to me, a completely dark room and total silence. Additionally the bed was so perfect and the temperature was perfect and there were no drafts. We had a corner room with five windows, four windows? It was a lot of windows and the curtains are absolutely perfect because they cover everything. But then in the daytime we had these beautiful views of the city and the hills and the steam plant towers. Walking around the hotel was a bewitching experience. So much history. Riverfront Park is such a sweet place to visit and walk and it is just a stones throw away. We used south parking and the south park garage is right across the street and we felt very safe parking your car there overnight and it was very convenient to walk from the garage into the Davenport. When we needed coffee or cream we just stopped at the front desk. We had a little coffee machine in our room which was just delightful. Our shower was so big! It was amazing to step into this huge room and have this warm water raining down on you, it was a very pleasant experience taking a shower. We were really grateful for everything at the Davenport and the experience with nothing short of perfect.

  Our family had to find a place with our german shepherd. Davenport was accommodating and the room was very spacious and clean. My husband and I noticed there was no cover-up odor or dirty feel that so many “pet friendly” places usually have. We were very pleased with the staff and accommodations. One suggestion for the restaurant- I would say stick with the bar food items- those were definitely the tastiest. The higher priced items were not worth the money. Other then that, our stay was great!

  We love the Historic Davenport!! We have stayed there several times, while visiting, over the years. Our room was very spacious and very comfy and cozy!! TV & WiiFi were great!! We love our breakfasts at The Palm Court. There is so much history with this hotel. You can walk all over the hotel and see all the beautiful ball rooms and extensive pictures from over the decades .. even century! The lobby is gorgeous and a great place to just sit, relax and enjoy. Ask the Staff are so sweet, kind and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel!!!

  A wonderful gem in Spokane. The rooms are spacious with art on the walls. The bed was comfortable. The linens were new and clean. The hotel is elegantly decorated. The ballrooms take you to a European palace. The food and beverages are all top quality. Try the Davenport Breakfast. It's delish. The staff are all warm and helpful. We found history around every corner. Try the walking tour of the hotel. I highly recommend the Historic Davenport. In a world where personal experiences are highly valued, you will be treated like royalty. It's the way you feel that you'll remember for a long time.

  I stay at Davenport properties monthly for work. I always take my wife to the Historic for 4 to 7 nights around the holidays for business/leisure trip. The Covid excuse for room upkeep and cleanings is no longer acceptable. If you charge the prices they do, your room should be serviced anytime you like. I’ve experienced that level of service in NYC, Vegas, Seattle, SF, Boise, Tampa in 4 to 5 star properties over the past 2 years. If you’re claiming to be diamond rated whatever class; step up and be it. Worse is that the desk staff were rude on multiple occasions about basic requests like fresh towels or water or taking trash out. We were there almost a week and requests were ignored repeatedly. The staff was rude, one guy in particular hung up on me calling front desk. What a joke. Bell service and valet were fantastic, the peacock room was enjoyable as usual, and the Christmas elegance was superb. Marriott needs to step up and keep this place the classiest in Spokane or lower prices to a standard service level if not.

  Check in was a breeze, and the staff were friendly. The hotel was busy with people for the holidays. The room and bathroom were very nice, but the bed was too soft. You couldn't sit on the edge of the bed without falling off because it slumped. The room was also very hot when we got there. I turned down the thermostat as far as it would go, but it stayed uncomfortably warm the whole stay. It is December, so we tried to open the windows to get some cold ari in, but they were screwed shut. There were only maybe 40-50 TV channels, so that was disspointing to have such a nice TV, but nothing to watch on it.

  Alone. With a significant other. With the family. You cannot go wrong here with any sort of stay. This has become an annual pilgrimage for our family. Even in the middle of a public health matter, this place is top tier and was last year as well (2020) when we were seeking refuge and restorative relaxation from the spouse and my very busy hospital nursing occupations. This year, our stay here came at a rough time for us. A single night with our two little ones... I swear, I believe it probably helped save our marriage. It reminded us of who we are, where we have grown from, and why we do what we do. This place is unique and special. The staff are amazing. The environment is perfect for any occasion. While a little on the higher side of pricing, it still seems to remain worth it to us. You will not regret your decision to stay.

  We spent a long weekend at the Historic Davenport just to get away for a few days and it was awesome! The history and architecture of the building were fascinating and the staff was super friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, the drinks were great at the Peacock Lounge (although beware they aren’t offering a happy hour right now) and we got a late checkout. Walkable to downtown shopping and parks by the river. We would definitely stay again!

  It’s so fun to stay here at Christmas time. The place is beautifully decorated, live piano music in the lobby and the Christmas trees all displayed on the mezzanine level. The rooms are elegant and spacious. That just adds to the experience at this time of year. My only complaint would be that it’s so busy there that when we arrived (right at 4:00) we were told our room wouldn’t be ready for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. They said they would call us. We waited in the lobby where they was live piano music, so it really wasn’t too bad. But we never got a call, so finally we checked again at the front desk and our room was ready. It was just too busy and probably understaffed. A bit of a frustration but in all other ways our stay was perfect.

  The historic Davenport is definitely a one of a kind place to stay. We stayed in the Davenport suite that was on the 14th floor with a great view and had a fireplace. Very romantic! The room was beautifully furnished with a very comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom c a soaking tub, and high end toiletries provided. Great location too! We walked to entertainment, restaurants, and shopping. Overall it was a very special weekend for my husband's birthday and the staff made sure to make us feel special. I highly recommend a stay here.

  This was a beautiful hotel in downtown Spokane. The accommodations were terrific with a taste of old history as I walked around. The ballrooms where we had our conference were big, with lots of stories per the pictures and artifacts on the wall. The only thing that I would have done different was requested the other side of the building. The trains rolling through at night time was the only downer to my experience. The staff was very helpful and attentive and the food in the restaurant was delicious. I was recommend this this place to anyone who enjoys history and beauty all wrapped into one place.

  We have loved the Historic Davenport hotel for the last 15 years! We supported you during Covid. This last time though the experience was that one of a normal 2 to 3 star hotel. We are elite gold members at Marriott… Checking our name was not recognized, we have been staying here every three months for long weekends for the last few years, our room, 327, was a corner room with view on the inside, on the skylights on the major lobby. We bring our car for service here so our routine is to arrive, check in, drop our gear, drive to the dealership, drop our car there, and come back with the dealership’s shuttle. So we did not use the parking services. At check out I was faced with a $69 valet bill for two nights! (That was voided after I pointed it out). The day of checkout we went for brunch at the restaurant. It was 1145 and check out being at 12 we asked Dan, the host, if it was OK for him to inform Front desk that we would be slightly late checking out because we were at the restaurant… He said that he did so and everything was fine… Well I couldn’t charge my lunch to my room because surely enough at 12 o’clock the hotel checked me out. My key wouldn’t work on the elevator, nor in the room. Went to the front desk where they made me another key… No apologies! After leaving I checked my Marriott membership and neither the points nor the stay were there. The hallways were not as clean as they used to. I’m sad to say that the historic will not see us again. We will go for drinks at the Peacock still. The old guard is still good. Joseph the older bellman/valet is still great, and the lost and found works as well as before!

  We stayed for our Anniversary, we extended our stay because we loved it so much. The history of the Hotel is breath taking. The staff really make it special from arrival to leaving. We loved our suite, we purchased one of the King beds, and we loved dining there. The food was delicious, the home made peanut brittle is so good. I loved the peanut brittle martini was a treat. Even with the COVID restrictions and less staff our room was extremely clean, there were a few dings in the walls and the furniture are getting worn. This did not in any way change our views of the beauty of this hotel. If you are looking for a beautiful, unique, place to stay this is a must. We love history and it truly transported us back in time. I am happy this beautiful Hotel is still alive and thriving. We are already talking about when we will be going back.

  A Victorian work of art and architectural genius restoration recently made new, the Davenport hotel is rich in comfort and style. The staff is professional and helpful. If you’re a history fan, it’s good to read about the excitement of Spokane at the time this majestic hotel was built. It’s got an aura of an elegant past and it’s my favorite vibe there. I especially loved the giant bed, mega thread count freshly washed sheets on the most comfortable bed I ever slept on in my life. It’s about feeling better, no matter how good you felt before you arrived. Glorious comfort. Renewed.

  Très joli cadre et belle rénovation pour cet hôtel. Grandes chambres confortables avec bonne literie. La décoration est soignée, les salles de bal magnifiques. Ne pas prendre le petit-déjeuner à l hôtel, service et qualité effroyable. Traverser la rue et choisir le restaurant en face !
