We loved the venue and service, everyone always made sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was always consistent and the best of the on-site dining we experienced. The other on-site restaurants were a bit expensive for the quality of the cuisine - better to explore the culinary offerings in the city. Overall, we enjoyed our time and would gladly return!

Six family members and myself recently visited Solaz for a reunion. When our rooms were unavailable, we were given a penthouse residence with two floors including a private pool and hot tub. Suffice to say, we had an excellent trip and would highly recommend the resort to anyone looking to splurge on a five star vacation. Juan the Artisan was fantastic and provided A+ service throughout our trip. While past reviews had suggested the food was average, our group agreed that everything from drinks to ceviche to pizza were delicious (two of our group members went to culinary school and could accurately be described as restaurant snobs). Just a great place to visit with truly world-class service. Highly recommended.

Solaz is a beautiful well maintained property in Cabo. The view of the ocean crashing against the rocks is peaceful and calming. The location is ideal, the amenities are nice and the food is good. It is a very clean well designed property. Everything is expensive. That may not have been as noticeable if the service was better. Concierge is not attentive and not very friendly. I have had better service at lower category properties. They are not rude by any means just not helpful or attentive. It feels like they are just doing their jobs minimally. The restaurants had the best service on the property. It’s expensive but pretty good. The Japanese restaurant is awesome! We loved it and visited multiple times. You must make reservations though. Most of the restaurants require reservations. The spa is a breath of fresh air with wonderful service as well. They are accommodating and aim to please. The property states that you get a butler. We only saw our so called butler on arrival and the one task we asked for was not met. The next day we saw him he had excuses but nothing done to make up for it. Other properties we visited that offer a butler, the service was proactive, attentive, and exceptional but not here. Out of sight out of mind. We were celebrating our anniversary and my husband’s birthday and was disappointed. I kinda wished we would’ve gone to the Ritz. The only reason I picked this property was because it was a slight savings in price and it was supposed to recognize my titanium status and gain points for my stay. The Ritz doesn’t recognize status and doesn’t reward points but I think it would do better with service which is still very much important. I prefer and recommend spending the extra money and going to The Ritz.

Absolutely a beautiful resort with amazing staff. Edgar our butler, Cesar and David at the pool and Marcos, Jose and Jose’s (brother) at the swim up bar made our trip so enjoyable. If you go to Al Pario you must request Abel… best waiter and made our dining experience incredible.

Most of the stuff they have is very nice, very clean, and we'll kept. However, the timeshare tour wasted more than 2 hours and we didn't expect the person is going to eat breakfast with us, which was very awkward. Furthermore, the person tries to tell us how we should spend our money and what to take priority in my trip. Don't do it, it's not worth the 200 dollars coupon, I would just enjoy the pool, the beach, and the excellent service from the rest of other staffs. For example, Ramon was great, even though it's kind of weird to have a "personal assistant" because it is nice to have a go to person but we didn't feel too comfortable when somehow the resort put our status above another human. I believe you can still give great service without us feeling like we "own" you ? It was just a bit much. The drinks were too expensive.. 4 drinks for a hundred dollars is crazy pricing.

Enjoyed the grounds and poolside service. The Gym was well equipped. The Culinary was excellent and the staff extremely attentive and friendly. Absolutely beautiful architecture and landscaping. I would return to Solaz and that speaks volume, as I typically like to change up places that I stay... even when I like them. Also, I would recommend the livery service To:/From the airport. they provided an airport concierge for your return flight and she helped us get through the check in process within 15min. it would have been almost 2hrs without her... worth every penny.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a luxury vacation after spending 18 months working without a vacation due to COVID. Solaz was exactly what we were looking for. Katia, the bar manager/mixologist, Carlos, and Verenice (pool service) made the stay very enjoyable and should be commended for their excellent service.

The staff at Solaz are amazing. They made our stay the most pleasant we’ve experienced in a long time. Everyone there from our artisan Eduardo, to the housekeeping staff, to the pool attendants went out of their way to make sure you were as comfortable as you could be there. And they made It abundantly clear that they enjoyed doing so. It was a fairly expensive stay, but the service is worth the cost.

We enjoyed our stay but Solaz surely falls short of luxury. 1. Rooms - paint job not high end with patches of unevenness, worn out balcony furniture couch. A big short coming is one can hear every conversation from other room. Not good for the price being paid, short of privacy when you can hear every word from other rooms. 2. Restaurants - Al Pairo missed on several levels. La Deriva for its rating should have high end furnishings. See JW as an example. Misaki was the best restaurant in its design. 3. Resort/Property - the best in Cabo in terms of architecture, location. 4. Service - this was top notch+++ 5. Food - this is hit or miss. Misaki was the best of all.

Solaz appears to be more focused on using the access to Marriott reservations to sell time shares to the resort and force guest to dine at their over priced restaurants than creating an environment that is memorable. Given the room rates at this hotel, that is very disappointing. We arrived around 6pm local time and started the check-in process. It was a process that disappointingly lead to an initial non-optional (according to our check-in employee) tour of a small museum that quickly transitioned into a sales pitch for the time-share on property from a different employee. After check in, we asked which restaurant was good for a small meal, as we were not very hungry. I enquired about their sports bar, which is listed on the website and even on their information on the TV in the room as being open. I was informed it was not and was directed to the steakhouse by the beach. We declined to eat at the steakhouse given the very high prices for even very basic food like a side order of french fries ($15). Later we learned that the sports bar was only being used for time share sales in the morning. Given the cost of dining at their average restaurants compared to even the finer dinning in town and lack of evening gathering place to enjoy a cocktail with other guests, we left the property every evening. The breakfast buffet every morning was very good, along with some of the staff members who would go above and beyond. The room was nice but the plunge pool was very much more decorative than actually useful. This could be a very special property, as the grounds and architecture are stunning but the lack of atmosphere and dinning options in the evening are holding this property back from it being considered for a return visit.

The Resort, staff and Amenities are all world class. From the moment we arrived and were greated by our Artisan Cesar we were immersed and relaxed. The Restaurant AL Pairo was our favorite and the chefs choice of courses was one of the best meals we ever ate. Martin the chef was incredible. The spa is also a must see before leaving. We didn't have time to do alot of the activities the Resort offers this time but the Sunset cruise we went on was amazing and highly recommended. Solaz is a must stay for Cabo!

Excellently appointed room with great creature comforts. Great, great, great service. Food was very tasty and delivery was fast (e.g. when eating at our lounge chairs at the pool). I really couldn't ask for more, they excelled at everything. The grounds were thoughtful and beautiful -- I loved the way they made a large pool deck seem so intimate (lots of great spaces).

We had a fantastic stay. Service was outstanding. Felix was extremely helpful and made everything a breeze. The pool staff, Cesar especially, were phenomenal. I cannot say enough about the service and the staff. The playlist of music at the pool could have more variety - the lounge / club beats all day every day could mix in some other varieties. For food, the breakfast was fantastic, and poolside lunch every day was very good. For dinner, Misaki was fantastic. Al Pairo and La Deriva were OK. The ambiance at Le Deriva is excellent, and the presentation is outstanding, but the food itself was OK. Al Pairo food was good, well seasoned, well presented. We sat inside and so did not have the best ambiance. We had a wonderful massage and enjoyed the spa very much. Nice equipment in the fitness center, and again fantastic service. Our suite was spacious and clean. The kitchen could use some silverware. The balcony however appears very dirty. The furniture is stained and dirty, the tables are stained and appear unclean. The floors could use a power wash. Upon arriving, the suite was gorgeous and then the balcony was a bit off-putting that we did not really want to sit out there, which was a key reason we booked an oceanview suite. Ultimately, a very relaxing, wonderful stay. We were made to feel special and well taken care of for our honeymoon. The resort was very nice but the service really made the experience a stand out.

The king panoramic ocean room is falsely published to be 700sqft. The actual size of interior living space is actually about 300sqft. At least that’s the size I measured for the room which we were assigned. The lack of a separate bathroom is a throwback to a layout of the lowest level hotels in history. To add to that when you leave the room to go to the pool there are no towels and you have to wait to receive some. If you need additional towels, again there are none to be found.

Excellent resort! Above a 10! Hotel staff were very professional and extremely helpful and catered to guests needs and requests. The food in all of the restaurants was fantastic. Kudos to the chefs. The grounds and rooms were beautiful and always impeccably clean. Infinity pools were kept at great water temperatures. Will definitely go back again!

We have been to Cabo, Mexico many times at many great and nice resorts. We really felt at home at the Solaz with the amazing facilities in which you can have any kind of experience from quiet to vibrant activities. but what really set it apart is the level of service and care the staff provides and takes seriously. amazing people work at this resort. will come back again and again.

It is clear this resort belongs in the luxury collection category. The service from every member of the staff is simply the best we have ever experienced in Mexico, especially the handling of an injury that occurred on the beach. The property is beautiful and the smaller size allows for a much more personal connection with the staff as one enjoys the amenities above the beach. We felt pampered and truly welcomed each day. Very impressive.

The resort is beautiful, very contemporary. The staff were wonderful. The location allows for short access to both Sane Jose and Cabo San Lucas. Fitness facilities are very nice. Great beach access to walk on. Impressed they had a full time lifeguard on the beach. We ate on three of the several restaurants-all very good and great atmosphere.

We had a fantastic stay from start to finish! We received a very warm welcome from Giuliana, the General Manager, and Jose, the Wedding Catering & Sales Executive. We stayed at Solaz just a few weeks after it initially opened in 2018, and while that was a fantastic experience, the service and property are even better in 2021! This was our first vacation since the pandemic began, and we were made to feel very safe throughout our stay, and with all of the comforts and luxury amenities still available to us. Everything from the rooms to the spa, beach, restaurants, and pools was just perfect. And definitely don't miss the brunch - it's a must-have!! Thank you for being the perfect home away from home. We can't wait to come back soon! - Andrew & Jacob

We had a lovely five night stay at the Solaz last week! Staff was amazing from check-in to check-out (though I was disappointed when I asked about checking out 45 minutes late that I was denied the request- as a Platinum Elite member, I have never been turned down for a late check-out, let alone one that was only 45 minutes after the original checkout time). We used our Suite Night upgrade for five nights in a plunge pool suite and were very pleased with the room. As Platinum Elite members we were offered a welcome gift of 1000 points or free breakfast every morning at Cascabel restaurant and we took the breakfast option- HIGHLY recommend. We were blown away by all the options (made-to-order omelettes? Fresh squeezed juice? Lattes & espresso? French toast bites & fresh baked pastries?) and always left full & happy. The other restaurants were all very very good, albeit pricey. We ate at Mako (steak & seafood, with a beautiful waterfront view) Al Pairo (Mexican with an artisan touch) and the Italian restaurant. We never struggled to find a spot around the pool and drinks were brought quickly and were all beautifully prepared. The staff, again, was top notch and always checking in on us to make sure we were happy while also giving us space to relax and enjoy. The one thing I’ll warn about is the timeshare pitch at the museum- we knew this would be coming from other reviews and we actually agreed to a 75 minute presentation in exchange for them arranging a boat tour for us free of charge. When we checked in for the presentation, they hounded us about any plans we had afterwards and when we mentioned a car service four hours later that was picking us up, they repeatedly asked the name, what we were doing, and questioned the timing of it all until I finally asked, “is this information you need to know?” And they backed off. The breakfast for the timeshare was awkward and not very Covid-friendly, as they had the rep sit with us throughout breakfast and eat. When the presentation finally ended about three hours in (including breakfast) and we said no, they brought us to two other people who tried to talk us into it. Not worth it even if you’re interested in timeshares IMHO because it took almost a half day away from our trip and felt very pressure-laden. Aside from that (which you easily could have opted out of) and the late checkout denial, we had a stellar trip and would highly recommend the Solaz for a romantic getaway!!

This place is a dream from the moment that you enter the property. The food is delicious. the service is outstanding and it is the perfect place to feel fabulous with your family. I would make sure that you ask about all of the amenities because there were things that we didn't know about upon arrival. They had an earth day party that we didn't hear about until we passed by. You can use a day pass at the spa that we didn't now until we booked an appointment. Just make sure you use all of the amenities that are available to you!

Our time at Solaz surpassed all of our expectations. It was an unforgettable, romantic vacation filled with the best food, above and beyond customer service, gorgeous views, and luxurious accommodations. David and Alberto at the pool were so friendly and always made sure we were taken care of. Our personal bellman Oliver was very responsive and was great at coordinating our requests. We enjoyed several spa treatments at Ojo De Lieber Spa. Hands down the best massage and relaxation rooms we've ever been to. This is an absolute must do. We have nothing but praise for this property and can't wait for our next visit.

The hotel is beautiful, full of desert plants, views are awesome, every staff are nice, restaurant service is very great, but there are some problems exists in the hotel. As a Titanium member, I want to use my room upgrade certificate, and I got refused firstly, it's fine. When I checked in, I asked is there any room upgrade possibility? Front desk told me, all rooms are full, but I opened my Apps, it showed all the room types are able to book, so I asked, is it true? fully booked? Then the front desk started to said oh, maybe we could still upgrade you, then they arranged my new room. However, I wait a hour for them to prepare my room. It's not a good start. Especially I just checked out from Waldorf Astoria, I feel the huge difference on check in service. Another thing is when I checked out, I called front desk that I need golf cart to pick up me and my luggages, but the golf cart didn't show up, we wait for another 15 mins and called again and again. The last thing is privacy. When we still in the room, and we were taking shower, the staff for underwater maintenance just came to outside of our room( I lived in 1007, the room connect to outside) the worker literally stand in front of my room, he could see what we were doing.... Solaz is a beautiful hotel, but I would say, it's not a luxury hotel in my mind, a luxury hotel has the great service, Solaz is just lack the "soul" of great service.

I just returned from an amazing 4 night stay at the Solaz Resort. I wish it could have been longer! I was able to use my Suite Night Awards and got an upgraded plunge pool suite (to die for!) The infinity pool over looking the ocean with the most attentive (but not overly intrusive) staff bringing out watermelon margaritas and delicious ceviches is what I will be dreaming about for a long time. My Artisan Butler Guillermo was wonderful, making us spa and dinner reservations and even decorating our room for my birthday! The weather, the location, the breakfast (included for Platinum Bonvoy Members) all just made for a perfect stay. The hotel is all open air and the staff was extremely cautious with their Covid procedures, I felt very safe. I can't wait to return!

Gorgeous architecture, stunning ocean views and mesmerizing desert landscaping along with top notch personal service by every single team member all made this five night stay at the Solaz an elegant, peaceful and wonderful experience. We never wanted, or needed, to leave this gorgeous property and its excellent restaurants, pools, beach and ocean facilities. We watched whales breaching right off the beach from our loungers on two different days and enjoyed ourselves from sunrise to sunset. Thank you Ramon and Verrynice as well as the dinner team at our favorite restaurant, La Deriva.

Our experience at the Solaz was great, however we were certainly disappointed to not be able to use our 8 nights of suite upgrade. We booked the trip and asked to use these 8 nights. We weren't notified until less than 24 hours before boarding our plane that we were denied. That means that we couldn't cancel our reservation at the Solaz and make reservations at another property that might have allowed us to use some our our 8 suite upgrade nights. So, we felt a little deceived and wronged in that we had no option other than to keep the reservation without using some of those 8 night upgrades. It made us question wether or not being a Bonvoy member is really worth it. We ate at the Italian restaurant. The food was not good, we waited 20 minutes for a glass of wine and for someone to take our order. The wait staff kept apologizing, but after 2-3 times of apologies-we were over it. Our food arrived cold and it just wasn't very good. Not terrible, just not very good. I certainly wouldn't return to this restaurant if we return to the Solaz. We chose to eat off-property for the remainder of our stay.

Wonderful week at Solaz. My wife and had been itching to get back to Cabo since Covid. Solaz exceeded already high expectations. So much so, we even joined the Solaz club (even though we travel mostly through points and Airbnb). At the pool, ask for Cesar. For your host, ask for Edgar. And to learn more about ownership, ask for Zully. We love traveling to new places and staying at new places—- and yet we decided to commit to Solaz at least once per year going forward. I’ve been to Cabo 10+ times, and stayed at several different resorts. Nothing beats it.

This hotel is beautiful. It brings in the natural environment to the elements of the hotel experience. Based on its location you will require a car or pay $50 USD round trip to go to dinner. The Pool: - There are three areas to sit at the hotel. Some are overrun with construction noise and kids but the pool near the bar and Italian restaurant are calmer. It is hard to find folks to get towels and follow up on drinks. The Poke bowl is amazing and the cocktails were great. Check In: - Beware of the timeshare. They try to force you to schedule a date for a timeshare review and its overwhelming and annoying. We were not offered water or a place to shower and change before check in. Dining at Mako: - The food was subpar for the price - Beet salad was canned beets and soggy lettuce - It is a beautiful view Breakfast: - As a titanium member we had complimentary breakfast. The staff was awesome - Omelets and French toast were a favorite - Breakfast was always fresh and the service was fast and welcoming - Love the green juice The Artisans: - The service and speediness of the artisans are incredible - Our artisan, Roberto made our trip so fun and easy. - He assisted with reservations. replied instantly and was always so friendly and professional The Hotel Room: - We had a plunge pool room which is lovely. - The outdoor shower is great - Water temperature was fast and strong - We had obnoxious noisy neighbors the first night but the hotel managed that The Beach: - You can see whales from the beach - It is not very soft - Waves were quite intense at this time - Beautiful and private beach Overall the hotel stay was very nice.

Our friends chose Solaz and we are so glad they did! The resort and grounds are impeccable and they took Covid-19 precautions extremely seriously. The gym is awesome! We spent a lot of time in the pools and Cesar took wonderful care of us every day. We enjoyed our room and especially the large porch to enjoy the ocean views and extensive and beautiful landscaping. Breakfast was so yummy and we enjoyed a dinner at Miso as well. We can't wait to go back and try the spa and other restaurants. Thank you team Solaz. What a great first trip after our vaccinations!

I love that we were able to get a 2 bedroom unit both times we have visited this property. I prefer the units with laundry as that is helpful when traveling with family. I would also like to see tennis avail (being an active family) I would like to see the food and drinks go up a couple of levels. I think this is the one area the resort needs the most help. Not that the food is bad.. it just needs to be improved.

Where do I start, this property from the tunnel pulling up to the friendly smiles that greeted us in the lobby, this hotel is a amazing stay. The food was incredible along with the views from the pool overlooking a white sandy beach, the staff from the grounds keepers, to the bartenders, along with the servers are all super helpful with the best customer service. The rooms were also a 10/10 from the interior lighting to the shower to the patio. Marriot really outdid this property, we will definitely be back and this time experience the residential side which was its own private area sectioned off of the property. I wasn’t able to get a spa appointment due to short staff so if you plan on getting a massage or facial be sure to make it before your trip other than that this property is immaculate. Highly favored in my books of travel

Our five night stay at Solaz was delightful from arrival to departure. The concierge Manager and our assigned Personal Artisan Butler service is a new concept that I absolutely love. Edgar greeted us upon arrival and made himself available to us pretty much anytime of the day via text. He met and exceeded our expectations every single time. From transportation, dinner reservations on and off property and he was pretty good at checking in with us throughout our stay. Our room was beautifully designed comfortable and stylish. But most of all we felt safe, that every precaution was being taken to ensure a clean and sanitized environment. This is a beach front property on a beautiful stretch of beaches. We went horse back riding along the beach a few times. Only caught the sunrise one morning, It was amazing... We look forward to visiting again.

This resort is big and beautiful. Lots of amenities. Lots of chairs by the pools with umbrellas. and on the beach too! Lovely pools, would like them to be a bit warmer! Great beach! Great wait staff! Pool concierge staff very helpful. Front desk staff very helpful also. If you need a golf cart to get around, just call! Nice spa.

Wife and I stayed for almost a week before changing to The Cape for the latter part of our stay. Outside of the obvious view at The Cape, we did prefer the Solaz. Our only disappointment was they had a large wedding celebration and part of the resort on the beach was inaccessible during that night... and the strobe lights kept blinding us on our patio. Otherwise, the food and staff were phenomenal. One of our favorite places now.

I just came back from a 5 night vacation with the sis. The staff, the food, and the beautiful property itself makes Solaz the perfect luxury relaxation spot. We had a truly wonderful stay and could not ask for anything more. Shoutout to our artisan butler, Felix, who was super responsive and always ready to make arrangements for us. Our panoramic ocean view room provided the perfect place to relax after a day in the sun. Matteo took care of us by the pool and even helped us get fish and chips (I was really craving it!) from Mako even though it was on the menu. Cocktails are on the pricier side (like Vegas) but definitely delicious and worth the splurge for a bloody mary or three by the pool. The sis and I also spent half a day at the Ojo spa with full body massages and it was glorious. Thank you to all the wonderful restaurant team members for not only serving delicious food and drink, but also dishing up the best customer service we've ever experienced. We had the pleasure of having Alejandro as one of our servers at Al Pairo and twice at La Deriva - he's amazing! We can't wait to go back!

The facilities here are first rate. Just be aware they will rope you into a timeshare presentation right from the getgo. The spa was terrific and the pools beautiful. Had to be up at 6 am to get a seat right by the pool, however. And drinks are VERY expensive

This resort had something for everyone! It also had the best finding outlets on property out of all the Marriott properties I’ve ever been to. We liked every dining experience we had! You could chill out and relax if you wanted to, go on adventures, and everything in between! Such an amazing property with incredibly attentive staff and I cannot wait to return!

Loved everything about this resort! It is gorgeous. The rooms are clean, modern, and luxorious. Casablanca for breakfast is outstanding with all the options you could ever want. The beach is so relaxing with attentive service. We didn't use the pools or hot tubs but these were popular for most other guests; they looked nice! Great drinks! The staff was so friendly, helpful, and beyond generous. My friend was hungry when we got home one evening and had asked a staff member at the front if any food options were open. And he said no; but 10 minutes showed up at our door and brought us snacks from the vending machine. SO KIND. We will continue coming to Solaz at least once a year for our Cabo vacations (:

Las instalaciones del resort son bellísimas, superadas solamente por la atención del personal, desde la llegada hasta el momento que dejas la propiedad, te sientes en casa y se aseguran que tu única preocupación sea disfrutar al máximo. La ubicación de la playa privilegiada, cada día podíamos ver ballenas desde la comodidad de la alberca. Los calidad de los restaurantes de de primer mundo así como el Spa.

This was my third trip to the Solaz and it never disappoints. The resort grounds are stunning and the architecture is impeccable. Centrally located halfway between Cabo and San José so easy to get to dinners etc. Uber is available but you have to walk to gate or provide driver info to get in. Have traveled here both during COVID and non COVID times and the resort is always quiet. Definitely a more relaxing quiet vibe. Service is excellent, drinks are very good and reasonably priced for a beachside luxury property. The breakfast spread for Ambassador members is EXCELLENT (way better than the JW). Very minor cons/mainly notes It is close to the highway and rooms towards the lobby (main building and top level of plunge pools) you do hear cars. Also there are no full length mirrors ladies. All in all the swim up bar and pool is one of my favorite places in the world, you can’t go wrong here.

The resort style is very impressive. A definite upgrade to the typical Mexican resort get away. Location is ideal, about 10 minute drive to san lucas. The pools are wonderful, the room decor terrific. Nice touch with the personal butler to assist with everything during the stay. As a Bonvoy elite member I feel guest recognition could be greatly improved. We were not offered an upgrade at check in until we asked if it was possible. We also emailed the hotel about special diet needs. The concierge responded and provided menus to the food available at the resort and that they informed the chef. It did not appear that the chef had any idea since each time we ordered we had to explain again and again. The service has the ability to be 5 star "luxury" but is not yet at that level in my opinion.

We go to Cabos almost every other year as one of our personal get-aways. We always try to stay where we can go to San Jose or Cabos and we have found our new home. I have been a Marriott member for over 12 years and we tried our first luxury experience with Marriott. The Solaz Resort was exceptional in their service, their hospitality, and their care. We will always look to Solaz first in the future as we return to Cabos, Mexico.

Amazing property and upgrade to a plunge pool room..thank you!! Stayed with my girlfriend who loved all of the amenities. Once I alerted my artisan to the fact that I was an Ambassador guest, the resort seemed to acknowledge that throughout my stay. Paul (concierge) and Richard (sommelier) were great! All of the bar staff were very friendly and willing to help. Staff consistently remembered my name and drink preference. When my girlfriend ordered a fairly complex drink at the pool bar (Ramos gin fizz), the resort bar manager came down to the pool to supervise its preparation and follow up with my girlfriend to ensure it was too her liking - that is impeccable service! Fitness center was often at max capacity due to COVID policies, but staff call your room once space became available. We had a couple of communication missteps during our stay - the text messaging system for communicating with our artisan had a few glitches and sometimes we went 12 hours or so without hearing back from our artisan. Additionally, some requests were not followed up on - one night I asked for turn down service and for wine and dessert to be brought to our room while we were at dinner. The wine was delivered, but there was no turn down service or dessert. I know turn down service is on request "due to the pandemic", but I had asked earlier in our stay and was obliged without question. At some points, it did seem as though if a request would cause you to spend more money (ordering wine) the staff was happy to oblige, while if not (turn down service) there might be a service hiccup. I understand that it is a luxury resort, but drinks and food were quite expensive (and I live in Manhattan). Very interesting to pay high U.S. prices (think Manhattan and Las Vegas) in a lower cost area of the world - obviously catering to American tourists. I stayed at the St. Regis Punta Mita last year - while the rooms are smaller, Solaz is a much more up to date resort and service was as good or better than St. Regis.

It’s hard to go wrong when picking one of the Marriott affiliated resorts in Cabo San Lucas; however, Solaz clearly stands out amongst the already amazing competition located in the area. First, the location at Solaz is extremely convenient. You are located right in the middle of the cape, so you are the perfect distance from downtown Los Cabos, San Jose, and the airport. Secondly, Solaz is situated on one of the very few swimmable beaches. Many other resorts nearby are located on either rocky beaches or ones with harsh waters. You can view the water but you can’t swim, which isn’t the case in Solaz. Finally, Solaz is the most modern resort being built in 2018. The architecture and design were stunning as were the modern amenities; such as, being able to control the blinds and temperature of the room from a touch screen TV remote.

Solaz was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in while visiting Cabo. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable and felt taken care of. We felt so pampered and relaxed the entire trip. The property is huge and you feel like you are so spread out which is nice because the pools and restaurants aren’t crowded when we went in March for a wedding. Highly recommend.

We had an awesome stay. One of the best Marriott properties we have stayed in the past twenty years and there have been many. The staff was super friendly everywhere we went, breakfast, lunch, dinner, valet, beach and pool. Ramon was assigned to us at checkin and he was very helpful and responsive, so was Perla Vizcaino. We ventured out a lot to see the sites of BCS, but we're always happy to return to our nice room at the end of day. The plunge pool and outside shower was used everyday. Days we stayed in, we enjoyed the beach, pools, and restaurants. Really enjoyed wandered the glorious landscaped grounds.

Pool staff was very great. But food was all bad there. Overcharged after checking out. Still waiting for a remedy. Property was a bit dirty in elevators and flooring.

Stayed at Solaz the first week of January. I would highly recommend this resort for a relaxing stay in a modern resort. The decor and grounds are beautiful. Standard rooms have a large balcony that feels very private. The sliding door gives the feeling of an open air room. The staff at the pool were great including both of the Caesar’s. The food at Mako and Cascabel was delicious. Very seasonal fresh ingredients. Not your usual resort restaurants - these are high quality. Every member of the staff I encountered was so welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here and will return.

Having read the reviews we came in with high expectations, but unfortunately those were not met. While the staff at the pool were very pleasant, the food and drink service was spotty at best, but normally very slow and inefficient. They seemed understaffed as we often had to wait a significant amount of time for an attendant to take and order. Frozen drinks were regularly served half melted, not becuase it was overly hot (only 72 F) but becuase it took a while to be served. Food orders at the pool easily took 30 minutes, if not more, to be delivered and I saw many people complaining over our 5 days. Then when it came time to close out the bill that too was a drawn out process. Add to this that at most of the other high end Marriott resorts I have stayed at you are offered complimentary water and even a snack during the course of the day (hat tip to Maldives properties where we got frozen fruit kabobs) we got none of those offerings here. The gym was also an interesting experience. All the equipment is new, clean and very well-maintained. I used it 4 times. A once early in the morning before breakfast, a couple times mid afternoon and another in the evening. The morning experience (6:30 AM) was the worst. There were no towels or bottles of water. Someone clearly removed everything the night before. Then other times towels delivery was hit or miss sometimes with wash cloths, sometimes with hand towels (my preference) and others with beach towels (way too big for a workout). And I tried to walk off with a towel after my workout (still sweaty) and was politely asked to put the towel in the hamper and they were not allowed out of the gym. Same laundry facility so odd... One quick tip about the room we were in it only had AC and no heat. The weather was only in the low 70’s during the day and 60’s at night. We were pretty cold a couple afternoons and after realizing that there was no heat we called down to the front desk and they relieved a space heater which helped take off the chill. Lastly the daily cleaning service was hit or miss. A couple days our trash cans were not all emptied. Our room did not get swept every day and given the resort is on the beach this is a must (I don’t like sand in my sheets). A couple evenings we were offered nice chocolates at the turn down service, but not every evening. Per my previous comment at a property at this price point we expected higher end service and perks, but none were offered.

This hotel is NOT a 5-star resort! It is poorly managed, rooms not serviced the way they should be, the bathroom is open to the hotel room that provides no privacy, a very poorly designed room. The rear of the rooms face the highway and are very very noisy! Sheets were not changed, towels were not replenished daily, dust and dirt everywhere. food was just ok, 1 restaurant that had edible food( mako). Breakfast buffet 30.00 for a very little. Public spaces were very well designed and pretty, that's about all. The beach had no service, towels ran out midday. We are considering a new card as Marriot is becoming a card that has no value to its elite clients, they just don't care anymore.

Solaz is unique, a word that is used too frequently, and has had it's meaning diminished. My wife and I have traveled extensively for 48 years and have never experienced the unique Solaz level of personal service and overall guest experience. Each guest has a personal Artisan to guide your every need throughout your stay. Guerillmo was there when we needed him, and was also there when we needed him but didn't know it. Solaz is an artfully designed venue. Its contemporary design is distinctive. Colors are muted yet elegant. Subtle elements of art abound. The rooms are warm and welcoming. The most comfortable bed we ever slept on. The pool area is world-class stunning with a series of infinity pools that morph your view into the azure blue into the Sea of Cortez. Food is excellent, with prices on the high end. It would be nice to have a small microwave to go along with the mini-fridge. The rooms are high tech. Remotes control everything short of turn down service, and that's done automatically every night A feature we used a lot and have never seen in any other hotel is a wireless connection to "cast" content from a mobile device directly to the large flat screen overlooking the bed. And with their high speed internet access, we were able to watch the impeachment hearings anywhere on the property. Yes it was a wonderful getaway, but life does intrude, and being able to follow events of the world in real-time was an unexpected plus. Service, Service, Service... can't emphasize that enough. It seemed as though Solaz designed their service initiative and then designed the property around it. It's embedded in everything and everyone you will experience.

Overall, the resort was very beautiful, with the buildings and the landscaping and art in public spaces some of the best I've every been too. However, there were so many other issues that it made the entire stay merely average. Was never informed that the 1-year old resort was completely renovating the spa and it was unusable the entire week. Numerous other issues, such as advertised services that weren't available and realizing that the museum was solely a way to get people to see the timeshares. The worst part was the food. Although the food at Mako was good, most of the restaurants were middling to poor. For a resort to be considered "luxury" I think they really need to step up their food and beverage options.

I cannot say enough about this hotel. I have stayed at other luxury resorts in Cabo, however the Solaz is special. Everything was so well thought out. I loved the mix of indigenous plants, artwork and the pools throughout the resort. The service was amazing. The entire staff went above and beyond. My spa services were amazing as well. I am always nervous when traveling, but my massage and facial was exceptional. I stayed in an ocean front room with plunge pool and it was wonderful. If you are wanting a full ocean view, I would stay in the main hotel, but if you prefer a private feel that is steps to the sand and ocean, this is a good choice. The location is between San Jose and Cabo San Lucas, 20 minute Uber either direction. It is not walking distance to much, but you really do not need to leave the resort unless you want to venture out to explore, take an excursion or go to one of the local restaurants etc. Although you could bring children, it seems like more of a an adult resort. And if you are looking for a party resort, you may want to stay somewhere else. But if you are looking for a resort that you feel harmonious with the surroundings and want to feel spoiled, this is the place.

I've been to 5+ star resorts + hotels, have vacationed on full service yachts in the Mediterranean. This place.. Solaz is TOP TOP TOP notch. They've put every experience Ive had to shame. If someone told me I had to invest in one hospitality company, I'd put all my money here. Hands down. When we arrived, we were greeted and taken care of from before we even exited our van. Then was greeted at the front desk with fresh watermelon juice and cold lavender towels... this is just upon arrival. One experience I had out of many that blew my mind was while I was walking through the lobby, out of the corner of my eye I saw an artisan (a designated point person to personally accommodate guests during their stay) swiftly walking so I turned to make sure everything was okay and I saw he was moving quickly *just* to be able to greet a couple that was approaching the end of the lobby wall separating the elevators and main lobby. That blew me away. The room wows you from the second you walk in. It smells phenomenal. Secondly, everything is quite high tech and eco-efficient with lights turning on as you walk through the room and also turning automatically off after x amount of minutes, as well as the AC turning off if the balcony door has been opened for too long. The blinds were also electrically powered and my favorite was the speaker system throughout the room ... AND in the shower. Like WHAT?!?! What a dream. The food is extremely fresh and delicious. Extremely attentive and proactive regarding any food allergies. The gluten free rolls are the best I've ever had. Bottom line. Stay here. It'll be the best accommodation decision you've ever made.

This was our first vacation with our 2-year old daughter, so we had some anxiety about the trip, and some very high hopes. Solaz delivered across the board, and after a week there, I cannot wait to go back. There's a lot to be said about Solaz; the property and rooms are beautiful, the pool and beach are perfect for relaxing, there are lots of options for food...but the thing that sticks out the most for me is the people. I've never been to a hotel where I felt more welcomed, cared for, and looked after than I did at Solaz. Literally, everyone we encountered there made us feel at home and made our stay feel special. The service was top notch, and it never felt over the top or pushy (which can happen at nicer hotels). My daughter didn't want to leave, and my wife and I left feeling like this was definitely a place we would come back to.

Stayed in Solaz in Los Cabos, Mexico for my 15th anniversary with my wife. Did a lot of research on many hotels, their locations, etc…and found this to be one of the newer ones with nice food, modern look to the hotel and rooms many of which with plunge pools...however plunge pool rooms have partial views of the ocean unlike other rooms which are in the main buildings and thus higher and see the ocean better. So to the actual hotel – very modern and has a slick look to it even to the lobby (never saw a 100% open air lobby before) and some restaurants there offering good priced delicious food. A new Japanese restaurant with fresh fish + a great pool bar/restaurant with nice views while you take a rest from the sun. There are three main pools I would say with one of the dedicated to the hotel guests and another for renters or time share however you can also use it…they are all infinity pools with heated waters. FYI – the beach is not really for swimming as this area has a lot of strong currents so I would for sure not recommend it. We took the grand room with plunge pool which also comes with an external shower (internal and external) – all was very nice and has 80% privacy to it (depending on how crazy you are thinking of getting then you might want to reconsider). Also the SPA is really nice with a lot of varying facilities and joint massage rooms for couples to use – it is though on the pricey side for sure. What made the stay worth for us as well was the service we got from everyone who we got in contact with in the hotel helping us booking things, gave us advise on where to go, what to eat, how much to pay, etc….

Perfect relaxation experience. Not as expensive as you could imagine it would be. Personalized attention which is highly appreciated. The staff treats you really well which makes you feel really valued. Delicious buffet at Cascabel for breakfast and even more fancy and delicious the dinner at Al Pairo. Cocktail Master class is highly recommended. You learn a lot and pass a great time. You also drink a lot and eat fancy snacks as well by the way... The romantic dinner at the beach... it was good, but I expected a lot more for what I paid. The decoration of the teepee was really poor, but the attention of the waiter and the 3 course dinner was outstanding.

My stay at the Solaz was incredible. I was going there to decompress after a few really hard months and the Solaz delivered a premium experience that surpassed my expectations. Our personal artisan, Oliver was the best and helped us with anything we ever might have needed. We dined at several of the restaurants and it was all delicious, but it was also delivered with 5 star service. My biggest recommendation would be to absolutely do a spa service. I spent several hours just relaxing in the spa area because the ambiance was perfectly relaxing. I'm already looking forward to my next stay at the Solaz.

Staid at Solaz in Cabo recently. Hotel is beautiful if you like modern design. Beautiful grounds amazing infinity pools go on for the entire frontage of the resort. Food at restaurants is outstanding, though somewhat limited for my vegan friend. We had issues with no hot water upon arrival and into the following day which took multiple visits from maintenance to resolve. At one point maintenance man was telling me that lukewarm was hot. At one point there was no water at all. I suspect air in the pipes led to these issues. Internet was spotty for a day and chromecast feature (which is great to have) was not working required a visit from IT tech and multiple reboots of modems and TVs. Once fixed it worked well after that. Room design can be a little awkward around bathroom area and there is no desk for working on a laptop, although there is a small vanity area that can be used for that but sitting at it blocks the passage to the rest of the bathroom area. Toilet has a sliding door and offers very little aural privacy and does not lock. Room design is beautiful and balconys offer wonderful views of property and ocean depending on how high up in the property you are located.

I’m a Marriott elite member who typically stays for than 100 nts per year at Marriott and Starwood properties, so I’ve seen a lot of hotels. About half of this property was timeshares and residences and the facilities were shared amongst them all. The beautiful infinity pool was overrun with families on spring break. The rooms were so far back from the beach you couldn’t hear or see the surf from your room, and the restaurants and facilities were extremely overpriced. $100 USD for lunch for 2 for a philly steak sandwich, chips and guac, and a couple drinks. Or try nearly $300 USD for a 90 min massage at the spa. Breakfast at Cascabel was phenomenal and included for Titanium Elite members. Also, a coffee bar on property serving Starbucks was nice. They claim to want to create an atmosphere where you don’t need to leave the property. They could absolutely do that, but would need to be without the price grouping of their guests. Reasonable pricing for the food and services would make this place more valuable IMO.

This was our 2nd time to stay at Solaz. As a platinum number, we appreciated the recognition at checkin and friendliness of the hotel staff. Many of the front staff remembered us from our previous stay and were very engaging. Wonderful room and view of ocean & beach. Nice to have option of chairs on the beach or by the pool. And multiple pool choices across the property.

As regular travelers who seek high end accommodations in our vacation travels, we were nothing but impressed with every aspect of our stay at the Solaz Los Cabos. The hotel provides everything you need for a relaxing vacation, from multiple, warm infinity pools and hot tubs, to open bars and a variety of delectable restaurants. It is a peaceful retreat (not a party scene) where you can escape for a private vacation or meet friends! There is plenty of space to suit your needs on any given day, but the property is easily & beautifully navigable. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but not overwhelming or suffocating. They are there to provide you with the experience you’re seeking. We highly recommend the Solaz Los Cabos and we WILL return.

The service is amazing and everything is new and very nice. Beautiful pool and great long stretch of beach for Cabo that you can stroll. We recommend Mako only for poolside food and the El Pairo and Italian restaurant for great onsite dining. The pool is really beautiful and you can utilize all of the pools (there is a timeshare section that is separate). We commented that the club music by the pool was a bit too trendy for us. Also, the spa is very expensive. It is beautiful and has a lot of amenities so if you spend the money you almost need to make a 1/2 day of it. The gym is very nice and all equipment is brand new. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this property. :)

Solaz is gorgeous. The staff was mostly wonderful and attentive, but you can tell housekeeping was not properly trained. Since this resort is so new, I anticipate it will continue to get better. Our room was in the main building and we were told we received an upgrade a check-in, but I really do not believe that to be true. While the room was beautiful, the door did face the main road so it was incredibly noisy. I didn't see anything special about the room so doubt it was any kind of upgrade other than being on the top floor. Housekeeping was very strange, they would remove all our dirty mugs, glasses, towels, shampoo bottles, etc., but never once replaced them. So very frequently we had to call front desk to ask for more coffee, tea, mugs, glasses, towels, shampoo, etc., and while it is not a huge deal, it certainly is inconvenient and not what one would expect from this caliber of resort. The pool was smaller than expected, but there were several water areas (many of them very shallow) and it was absolutely gorgeous. Food and drinks were great, some of the best cocktails we had on our trip, and pricing was quite reasonable for a vacation resort. We did find that water in the room never got hot (nor did it get hot at the spa), so we were never able to get a hot shower, just a luke warm one for 6 days. Also strange was they did not offer anything other than very flat, low loft, feather pillows. I asked for foam or firmer pillows and was repeated told they only had one kind of pillow. Overall, it was a great stay. I will definitely be back and feel that given more time, their services will improve greatly. Tip - do rent a car if you plan on leaving the resort often. Solaz is in the middle of the resort zone and is about 10 minutes from San Jose del Cabo and 15 minutes from Cabo San Lucas. Nothing is walkable from the resort, not even the nearby shops or restaurants outside the resort.
