  My room was clearly being used as a place for employees to come and clean themselves, used for obtaining spare parts because I had to go and purchase items that should be stocked for use by guests, (kitchen used to have everything needed for guests use like knives, pots, etc.). The bathroom area had the complimentary items used WITH the opened wrappers left on sink, NO extra garbage bags, NO soap for dishwasher. I asked for regular pillows when made reservation I got the feather pillows, had to go buy a couple pillows so could sleep. I GOT LOCKED OUT OF MY ROOM 4 TIMES because KEY CARDS did not work when I would leave the room for longer than an hour. I have a bad hip and HAD TO WALK TO THE OFFICE FROM THE VERY BACK OF PROPERTY while trying to carry bags, grocerys etc to get a new key. I was unable to get into the laundry room to do my dirty laundry. There is more I need to write about and will because the quality of this place has lowered since my very first stay here 20 yrs ago and many stays in between.

  Close to airport. Approximately 30 minutes from downtown SF. Supporting businesses such as Target and selection of restaurants under 10 minutes away. Clean, quiet, comfortable, well maintained. Extras include fire pit basketball hoop. Enjoyed being able to order take out and have plates and utensils provided in room.

  I have always been very satisfied with the overall experience with all my stays in this particular facility due to its friendly, professional staff and cleanliness of the rooms. I consider this Residence Inn as my home away from home during my business trips to the Bay Area.

  The Residence Inn was like having a home away from home. It was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. I was even able to do laundry on-site and pay using a mobile app. I don’t think I’ll stay at a “regular” hotel anymore after staying at a Residence Inn. It’s like having an apartment that someone comes and cleans for you, but you still get all the benefits, like a full kitchen, a couch, and a separate work area! Stay in a room away from the basketball court if possible, as it can be noisy at times.

  We were here to visit my cousin in San Mateo and to attend the Cal-Stanford football game the next day in Palo Alto. Our location could not have been better and the hotel, although old, was in fine shape. The room was very clean and was located next door to the office and our car was parked around the front of our building. Breakfast was set up by staff and you were given a choice of items to take back to your room and we found the quality of the eggs and sausages were excellent. Staff working breakfast were quick and accommodating even when there were up to seven or eight people waiting, and we tipped them accordingly.

  I love this staff, I believe they played a huge part in our family miracle. My husband was able to recover from being put on a ventilator all through the power of prayers, positive energy, faith and love. This staff expresses it all. They showed compassion when they didn’t need to, loving my children who at the time were grieving for their dad to wake up and fight. The staff always checked up on our well being and never once made my calls for toiletries or linens sound like a burden. They were all so quick to help or find someone who would. I am forever grateful to this staff.

  I found that staying at the San Mateo Marriott Residence Inn may be inconvenient when the front desk fails to diligently follow protocol for guess check-in. I was double-charged for my last stay. And had a difficult time having them follow up with crediting back the extra charge. This wasn't the first time, prior I had trouble with this past summer 2021 when the front desk charged my card under another guest's stay and instead of crediting my account for my night stay, double crediting another guest.

  This is a nice area to stay in for everyday conveniences. Easy on and off highways. The hotel itself at one point must have been very nice. It’s still decent, just showing it’s age and use. Could use some improvements.

  We wanted a place to go to that we could have so we wouldnt have to worry about needing the small things. The in room kitchen had just about everything and we felt like all our bases were covered especially with a toddler. The only semi bad thing I have to say is the crib we got was small and without a matress for the little one, but she didn't seem to mind after we wrapped several towels around it and a sheet to be safe. This was an excellent place for families to stay or business professionals that require full kitxhen ammenities. I would definitely stay here again and would like to tip my cap to the staff for the great and welcoming visit. This place is just what we were looking for. Not too fancy, and a clean at home feel is what we got. Thank you Residence you earned our repeat business next time we are in the area.

  Unit we stayed in was clean but dated. Upstairs foot traffics from another unit was bothersome but did it affect sleep. Overall excellent location and East access. Parking very accommodating even for full Size truck. Good value in Bay Area for long term stay unit.

  Great and convenient property. Very nice guest rooms. All updated recently. Clean and great. This is not the Ritz but as long as you k ow what you are getting it’s a perfect home away from home. Staff is excellent. Friendly and accommodating. Manager is great. Love the fact there is no single building with a lobby and elevator. All have garden access and makes it feel more comfortable like condos. Perfect place for our extended stay to support family members through an illness.

  We travelled with our pet for a family reunion. We never knew about this place. The service was professional and the residence features were above reproach. Sparkling clean linens, beddings, kitchenware, and pool. We plan to make this our family reunion place going forward. This place contributed greatly to a wonderful vacation. Also- it’s location is super convenient to everything.

  Residence inn was many of the few hotels that offered multiple beds and restrooms. Loved the price but parking was terrible. No vents in restroom. We weren’t told where the pool was. &all the suites looked the same on the outside. It was confusing to find our room. The room overall was doable though

  Friendly staff, spacious suite, and good location. Breakfast service was good, and our kids made use of the swimming pool. Our family really enjoyed our stay here. We can see that they have refreshed many areas of the property and would encourage them to continue to make this Residence Inn an attractive option in the area.

  I love this property. Nice and cozy and central to everything near costco, gas stations and banks! theres a nice lake nearby too, the Leo Ryan Park! This hotel made me feel welcome. The staff and crew of this particular Marriott hotel had been so warm and friendly.   Convenient location, Parking on site. Nice sized room with kitchen facilities. Due to COVID, the buffet breakfast was very limited, the pool was closed and there was no chambermaid service. These issues impaired the quality of the stay. Assuming all of the inactive services were available, I would raise my rating to Average +.

  Stayed here and worked at Half Moon Bay which was a nice drive every day. Great staff. Hopefully breakfast will improve after Covid restrictions are gone Located close to food and other stores Easy access to Hwy 101 also

  This is a great hotel, a little bit of an older Property. But the customer service and the upgrades for the rooms makes it well worth while. More of a apartment style living which is very much appreciated. Full kitchen with pots pans and dishes makes it much easier during the COVID-19 experience. The staff remember who you are and make sure that you have all the things that you need in your room as well as making sure that the room is clean and ready to go. Definitely recommend this hotel for short term or long term guests.

  Stayed at the property often with the family, always been pleased with the environment. The only down side is the breakfast... it would be nice to switch up sometimes. Not everyone eats turkey sausage. But other than that, everything was great!

  This is a well located Residence Inn. As we had a room in the middle of the complex, it was quiet. Not sure how the noise was for the outside rooms, but ours was in a peaceful location. There are great stores (Costco, Whole Foods, etc.) not too far away. Staff was friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

  The hotel is great for families, had a two bedroom with a loft and the kids loved it. Well stocked and quiet. Breakfast was very crowded because there was a high school volleyball team there. Didn’t really get any food but it looked fine. The front door did not seal very well so it let in cold air in and there was some previous trash in the upstairs loft so housekeeping could’ve done a better job. Overall it’s a good place to stay, and I would stay there again.

  The San Mateo Residence Inn is located near 101 and 92 but has its own property so it feels private and is very quiet. Each room feels like a mini apartment with a big kitchen, small living room and comfortable bed. Bathrooms are newly renovated and have glass showers and new toilets. The vanity area has new sink and top as well. I recommend this property highly and would stay there again.

  We had many issues during our stay. The closet doors in the bedroom were broken. The internet (which is an upcharge) did not work, and our dishwasher flooded the kitchen 2x. The automated lights kept us up all night long. And there was construction going on. The hotel also does not have room safes, which is important to me. Not sure I would stay there again.

  about an hour after we checked in, moved all the luggage to the room on the second floor, we noted the water heater was not working and my 2-year old had to finish shower in cold water. we called the front desk multiple times and i went down to explain, but we were told technician has left and there was no room we can switch. later my wife called again, and the staff tried to convince us that we didn't use it properly and we should wait for 15 minutes for the hot water, which is ridiculous... we been living in States over 20 years and we know what the 40 gallon tank is supposed to work. later he came and checked in person and realized water heater is not working. he mentioned will talk to management to provide points or discount for our stay, and later he found another room on the second floor and we eventually moved all the luggage down, into the car, then move them to the second room again... no elevators. we finally settled in at 1am in the morning, 3 hours after we checked in, and we had to adjust entire vacation plan for the next day. now i got the bill in my email and i don't see any discounts or points. it's the full price charged to me with not even close full services and full satisfaction. terrible experience and i will share my experience in other travel sites for sure.

  The hotel is clean and comfortable. There is a pool but not a hot tub, and it is pet-friendly. The staff were very nice and thoroughly professional. Full-size kitchen. You never feel crowded in this room, and the cleaning staff keeps it fresh and inviting. Only issue is the bed can feel hard if you sleep on your side and don't weigh enough to push the mattress down. But overall it was very nice to come "home" to after a day at work. My dog liked it also.

  We have stayed in this hotel several times over the past few years. The location is great, rooms large and quite but they need to update it a bit - it is getting pretty run down. The staff is friendly and responsive and the breakfast was a little better than most as they had some healthier selections as well as the normal sweet breads, cereal and waffle maker.

  This hotel was perfect for what we needed...my kids and I needed a hotel close to San Francisco to attend a concert. The location was great, it was an easy commute. Everything from check-in to check-out was great. The staff, and especially the manager, were friendly, professional and accommodating. The room was great. I was traveling with two teenagers and they loved the room as well as the whole property. The room was clean, cozy and nicely decorated. The beds, and especially the pillows, were wonderful. It couldn’t have been a better experience and we will definitely be back!

  I've stayed at a couple of Residence Inn locations in the Bay Area and this location is one of the better ones. Great breakfast spread. Rooms are well furnished and very quiet. There is also a decent sized pool, laundry machines, and a basketball court. The gym needs a update though. Staff were all super friendly!

  My room was very comfortable -- nicely decorated, very comfortable and clean, great bed and pillows. The free breakfast was great as well. I only have 2 complaints. The door to my room was nearly impossible to open from both outside and inside. They must get this fixed. And the breakfast staff were not very quick to clean off tables. I asked, but I don't think I was understood, and I had to move. These 2 things are easily fixed, though, and I would definitely return.

  The people at this Residence Inn are great but the property is dated - needs a refresh of the facilities in general. Gym is tiny and hard to get into during popular hours. Complementary breakfast is OK but otherwise no dining on site, either a long walk or a short drive to other options.

  We enjoyed our stay here as opposed to a high rise hotel in the bay area. Quiet, beautifully landscaped and friendly staff. The landscaping maintenance starts rather early though so don't expect to sleep in too late. Great weekend rate with a delicious breakfast! Queen rooms are a bit small for more than two people but nice to have the option of sofa bed if needed. The staff was very helpful and made us feel very appreciated. Definitely would stay here again next trip back to the Bay area.

  Great quality for the price you pay! Shower was awesome too! Clean, clean clean!!!! Nice bed but I should have taken my pillow. I am a pillow snob. I like my neck pillow and can’t sleep with anything else, but the bed was real nice. Pillows were fluffy. Fridge was awesome for the water I bought. Breakfast was good. You won’t be disappointed. Close to a shopping center. If you want a comfortable and great value place to stay this is it!!!

  The Front Desk staff of Jessica, Abegale and Hugo were awesome. From the minute my family and my self set foot we were greeted and welcomed with warm smiles. I was in town to show my family the city of San Francisco but we were all very impressed by the staff which helped make the entire stay memorable. Jessica went out of her way to help my family feel comfortable at the hotel, kindly upgrading us when she didn't have to. She made our stay more enjoyable by offering a more spacious room for the three of us. I will be coming back not only because of the comfort of the room but specifically because of the staff. I look forward to seeing all of you again and promise to bring a few small gifts for staff as a thank you from me to all of you.

  This hotel is in a very convenient location near airport and highway, and is not that close to avoid noises. It's also very easy to find good resturants nearby, and hot complimentary breakfast gives you a good start of whole day. Staffs are very nice and professional, just tell them what you need. In my experience, there's only two to be improved, one is the drain of tub is very slow, another is lower bedroom could hear steps from upstairs. Overall, we spent a good time in this hotel and might come again.

  We had an enjoyable weekend stay at the hotel during the Christmas holidays. We received a complimentary upgrade to a Penthouse suite which was clean and spacious. We especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. Front desk and kitchen staff were very professional and helpful. We will certainly return to this hotel when visit the area again.

  The good - we love this location, tucked away but close to the city. Great walking/jogging path close by and the rooms are large! Now for the not so good - the rooms are in need of a face lift. Carpet is thread bear in spots and the grout in the bathroom is deteriorating. The beds are a little harder than we like and the grounds are well maintained. Did not eat the breakfast this time so can not give any feedback.

  We stayed in a 2 queen Penthouse loft for Thanksgiving. We were going to have 5 family members for dinner so it was nice to have a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. It had a nice living room space which made it cozy for the 5 of us to eat and watch Football games. It's also nice to be able to bring your pets if you need to. It was comfortable and clean. The staff is very professional, polite, and kind. Anything we needed was addressed quickly and taken care of right away. It would be nice if it was stocked (especailly for a holiday) with extra towels, place settings, & trash bags. The complex is due for a paint job inside and out and new carpet. Overall it was very comfortable.

  The room was very clean and well stocked. Very comfortable bed! Clean carpets. But the staff and facilities here? Terrible! The grounds need work. Tennis court has no net. Dirt and debris all over the basketball half-court. Fire pit advertised on the Marriott website but they refuse to turn it on even when asked. Not enough BBQ grills. The lobby and pool are both tiny. Breakfast choices were mediocre. And staff....most we encountered need extensive customer service training. Housekeeping should NOT enter your room without permission, especially if you have the do not disturb sign up. We probably won't return here ever.

  This property is not for business travelers. Cell service is lacking, Wifi is very slow (even the paid for version), especially in the evenings when everyone is streaming. Wifi coverage (separate from bandwidth) is also poor as I lost wifi in parts of my room. Fireplaces, well don't get me started on those.. Lets just say they are ornamental only. The property is VERY noisy. Lots of Kids running around being quite loud, couples having arguments with each other. Bring earplugs If I was not traveling for business and didn't care about wifi, the room itself is Nice. It was clean although there was a very slight funky smell in the closet of garlic, bologna, and onions. The kitchen was in good repair, modern. The Fridge was iffy with the thin and flimsy glass shelves but its a week long stay. Furniture (couch, desk, ottoman, tables) were all modern, and comfortable. I could see a family of 4 staying here for a few weeks. The "room service" menu was actually priced well, delivered quick (as it is not on property, its a service) and the food was really good. The pool was a decent size. It is heated but not really enough to overcome the chilly days. Seems as if the pool filter/pump were underpowered or in need of repair. I have had very pleasant stays are residence inns before. Not saying this was my worst hotel experience ever but there are a few simple changes that could be made to really enhance the enjoyment of the guest. Lets say turning up the wifi power to get more building penetration and some QoS on the network would go a long way. Also, perhaps ensure guests are aware that even though the common spaces are outdoors, their voices carry and should be mindful of other guests. The front desk staff should enforce that. These few things (and in my place, the fireplace in good repair would have been a bonus) would greatly improve the property.

  Loved this hotel! We stayed in the penthouse deluxe 2-bedroom suite and it was perfect for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed - including a full size refrigerator and stove with oven. First time I have had an oven in a hotel. Everything was clean, updated, and the layout of the room was great. My family also loved the breakfast and said that it was one of the best complimentary ones they have had in a hotel. Staff was very friendly and the price was great - especially for the San Francisco area. I highly recommend the Residence Inn San Mateo - excellent place!!

  This is a nice location - close to shopping (Bridgeport), a nice park (on Hillsdale) with a lagoon. And the location of the Hotel is just a little out of the way from the congestion. The hotel itself is nice - has a heated outdoor pool, and I'm guessing all the rooms come with Kitchen and fireplace. There is also a gym, and courts to play basketball, tennis, and volleyball. Mornings you get a Hot Breakfast - eggs, canadian bacon, oatmeal, waffles, and a lot more. I thought it was wonderful. The service is great too. Front desk staff is caring and attentive. I loved it. I wish I could stay there for a long while. The hotel and the area has it all. Will be back!

  The noise was awful; my room was near the basketball courts and there were people outside screaming until very late in the evening. My sink did not drain and the shower curtain was gross. The bed was not comfortable at all. On the plus side, the staff at the front desk were very nice and having a complimentary breakfast every morning was awesome. I also think the market needs some additional choices that are convenient, so if you don't have a car, you can still purchase food and utilize the kitchen.

  Great quality rooms for the stay for the amount of people. It's really nice to be able to stay in one penthouse rather than separate rooms. Really great quality breakfast: lots of options and the waffle maker was the kicker! You aren't a great breakfast without a waffle maker! you can tell the eggs were NOT microwaved and were cooked on a skillet! Really great service at breakfast. Thank you Marriott!

  I booked this hotel mostly for the amenities as I was having a pool party/grill out for my birthday. I could not have been more pleased with this location. It is conveniently right off the freeway and is like it's own little secret oasis. The grounds are immaculate with lots of lush greenery all around. The amenities are amazing with a sport court for volleyball/basketball, grilling and swimming. The layout of the rooms was perfect; they each were like little apartments, which we absolutely loved! The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and was there to make sure we had a great time. They have a nice, hot breakfast buffet and the rooms are modern and extremely relaxing/comfortable. This is by far my favorite Marriott location I've stayed at to date and I really have become a big fan of the specific layout of the Residence Inn. I'll be back for sure when we are ready to have a nice celebration in a welcoming environment! Absolutely worth every penny spent :)

  Fantastic breakfast served daily, nice pool. Small workout room but OK for a quick workout. Centrally located and close to the freeway and 10 minutes to the airport. Fairly quite, just don't stay by the basketball court if you don't have kids and want a quiet morning. The kids like to get outdoors and play there early in the morning. Really a nice location and a nice property. The rooms are great for business with internet access and very roomy. Good size kitchen for stocking up on a few groceries to have around.

  I came to this hotel on accident. I was pleasantly surprised. It's nestled here very close to the offices where my business meetings were. The grounds are well-kept and very nice and relaxing. The complementary breakfast and Daria was very clean.its great to have a place with a kitchen and fridge. The food ordered from the dinning menu was good.

  Loved the split level room. The 2 showers were a life-saver. The breakfasts were good. Even our picky eaters could find something. Location is excellent. Easy on and off freeway. Close to shopping. Kitchen was clean and equipped with necessities. Staff was very good. The internet cut out for about 30 critical minutes on Sunday night, but we reported it right away and it was fixed. Other than that, we loved our stay here!

  Great value here. Room was ready early, clean and spacious. Parking is free. Rollaway bed at no charge is a plus if you have three travelers and don't want to pay for another room. Complementary breakfast is very good with plenty of variety for all. All things considered we found our stay to be well worth the reasonable rates charged.

  We stayed at the San Mateo Residence Inn for 2 weeks for a personal vacation to the San Francisco/San Jose areas. The location was perfect for our needs as it was close to the interstate and airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we did enjoy the continental breakfast when we could. We stayed in a suite on the 2nd floor so please note there aren't elevators. This was fine for us but it may not be for others. We always try to stay at the Residence Inns on our vacations as it suits our needs. The second bathroom was wonderful for the kids!! The only thing I would comment on is the windows could use a good cleaning throughout the whole hotel. It would have been nice to be able to see out of them!!

  My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The entire staff was genuinely nice and extremely courteous! The room was clean and spacious, providing privacy for my husband and myself. Breakfast was provided daily, and it isn't the typical continental breakfast. It's an actual hot breakfast with a vast selection! We also took advantage of hospitality nights, 3 times a week, providing complimentary wine, cheese, tacos and even desert! If we ever visit this area again,we will definitely stay here! I highly recommend it!
