  cet hôtel est vraiment exceptionnellement bien. Réception serviabilité accessoires de service sans commentaire. Malheureusement, "ceux" qui ne correspondent à rien ne peuvent pas comprendre et apprécier si bien les coûts, les prix et la cuisine. Il suffit de réserver et de l'essayer. Le reste pourrait être automatique

  Our stay in Hotel Goldener Hirsch was a big surprise. We expected good service, but what we got was so much more. Very friendly staff, delicious, very complete breakfast and a room that mixed authenticity with all of the modern comforts.

  I had a one night stay at the hotel with my wife and 11 year old daughter. I booked through AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts, but am also a Marriott Ambassador level member and lifetime Platinum. We were upgraded to a larger suite than what I had booked and it was amazing. Large, elegant and comfortable. The staff at the front desk, in the bar and at the front door were all friendly and helpful without exception. The location of this great hotel is unbeatable. I have stayed at another Marriott property in Salzburg and it was nice, but this was truly spectacular.

  Sowohl das Personal, als auch das Zimmer haben keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Die Hotelangestellten waren sehr freundlich und sowohl der Check-in als auch Check-out verliefen schnell und problemlos. Wir haben kostenlos ein Upgrade auf die Junior-Suite bekommen, was den Aufenthalt natürlich noch angenehmer gemacht hat. Die Lage mitten in Salzburg ist einmalig und trotzdem sind die Zimmer sehr ruhig und man bekommt von dem Trubel außen nicht viel mit. Das Hotel zeigt wie man Tradition und Moderne perfekt kombinieren kann. Wir haben uns außerordentlich wohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

  En tant que membre Bonvoy Titanium avec plus de 80 nuitées par an, j'ai déjà pu découvrir quelques grands hôtels de cette chaîne. Cependant, jusqu'à présent, aucun de ces hôtels ne m'a tellement impressionné que je prends la peine d'écrire une critique. C'est différent au Goldener Hirschen : je n'ai jamais rencontré un hôtel avec un niveau de service aussi élevé que dans cet établissement de Salzbourg. D'un surclassement dans une suite à l'organisation impromptue de costumes d'Halloween, le personnel a toujours fait le fameux "effort supplémentaire". L'hôtel lui-même a été restauré avec amour. Bien que tout soit ultra-moderne et bien au-dessus du standard des hôtels 5 étoiles comparables, l'hôtel n'a pas perdu son charme salzbourgeois. Ma petite amie et moi aimerions donc donner à l'équipe 5 étoiles plus et espérons que cette note encouragera d'autres clients à choisir le cerf doré - à notre avis, l'hôtel le plus spécial de Salzbourg.

  Das Hotel liegt perfekt um die schöne Stadt Salzburg zu erkunden. Die Zimmer sind neu renoviert. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und das Personal sehr zuvorkommend. Das Restaurant Goldener Hirsch hat eine exquisite Küche und danach noch ein Digestiv an der Bar. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

  Excellent location. Quality upkeep and maintenance. Appreciate the staff recognition of elite status. Excellent service overall - but breakfast servers overwhelmed and therefore not as responsive/difficult to catch their attention for requests. Breakfast variety a bit lacking - no ability to order fresh omelettes from the kitchen, for instance. Loved the balance of traditional architecture with hi-tech conveniences in the rooms/suites. No fitness center / gym which was the only main thing missing for us.

  The only downside of our stay was that it wasn't long enough! I was initially hesitant to use a suite upgrade because the pictures on the website didn't make the suite look all that great. It was way better in-person. It combined an authentic antique feel with modern touches, like bluetooth/tv/radio speakers in the bathroom. The staff we interacted with were all very warm and welcoming. We had dinner at Herzl and drinks in the bar; both were great experiences. Adrian, our bartender, was wonderful! We had a great conversation with him. I would recommend upgrading for the breakfast, as well. The buffet was lovely, as was the setting.

  If you are looking for the quintessential Austrian look to round of your trip to salzburg, this is the place! I won't explain to much (some secret gifts)... but this was the best service we've ever experienced. Great job! My wife and I took my mom on the sound of music tour for her birthday. We then went on to Vienna and Munich and they both could not stop talking about how much they loved Goldner Hirsch!

  Nous y avons dîné et c'était tout simplement délicieux ! Nous avions du schnitzel viennois de veau de lait, le schnitzel était très fin et parfaitement soufflé, avec des pommes de terre persillées et des canneberges et une salade d'accompagnement composée de salade de chou, de mâche, de laitue frisée et de salade de concombre, le tout très finement mariné. Pour le dessert, nous avions du Kaiserschmarrn caramélisé, qui était servi avec de la glace maison et des prunes rôties. La nourriture était non seulement délicieuse, mais aussi de très haute qualité ! Les prix étaient raisonnables, le personnel très sympathique et attentionné. Nous reviendrons à tout moment!

  The recently remodeled Goldenrod Hirsch was spectacular. The location was in the heart of old Town and in easy walking distance to the castle, gardens, and the wonderful old shops. We had two junior suites which were perfect.great beds, showers, large TV with an antique feeling. Perfect. The breakfasts and a dinner were excellent. Best eggs Benedict ever. However, the best part of the hotels the staff. Always smiling and genuinely pleased to help. We will definity come back.

  The hotel is in a great old building, and at quite good location. But there wewe all time few details which did not meet my 5 star expectations. There was no was basin and no towel at the toilet which was quite modern with bidet functions. So compllcated bill for our breakfest I didnot see for ages. There is no spa, no workout facilities. Bottles with mineral water are served open - possibly indicating that the content is not waht the label says (and no apologise). Not fully functioning shower doors were repaired after 24 hours after a call. We were promised a free drink as part of apology - however this did not happen at all. So I feel there is some room for improvement.

  Un beau jardin à bière avec un salon élégant m'a attiré. La carte était très convaincante et invitante. J'ai eu un goulasch de veau sensationnellement bon avec une salade fraîche. C'est annoncé comme de la cuisine gastronomique, à mon avis ça n'a pas tout à fait le standard, c'est très bon, une cuisine terre à terre pour le statut de gourmet, je manque un peu de raffinement.

  Hôtel cinq étoiles supérieur dans la Getreidegasse. Maison traditionnelle depuis plusieurs décennies. Réouvert en 2019 après plusieurs mois de rénovation. Populaire auprès du public international. Très belles chambres de style maison de campagne, en partie meublées de vieux meubles rustiques. Beau bar Service 1A dans tous les domaines. Bon restaurant de haut niveau.

  A fairytale 2 night getaway after 4 days in Munich. Lovely location to explore the city. Helpful staff without being over bearing. Room was wonderful with coffee, heated towel bar, heated tile, extra comfortable bed and seating area. Local sights walkable from hotel. Very enjoyable!

  We stayed at the Goldener Hirsch over Christmas in 2019. We don’t splurge often on five-star hotels, maybe once a year or so, but this choice was absolutely worth it. The hotel is located on a beautiful, charming street in the heart of historic Salzburg, and everything about the room and the service was geared to our comfort and pleasure. The rooms are completely outfitted with modern amenities while preserving the historic charm of the hotel. I loved every single thing about the room, especially the fruit plate waiting for us on our arrival, and the breakfast buffet, which featured the most extraordinarily delicious scrambled eggs and incredible varieties of bread I have ever experienced. I rate this hotel very highly!

Having been recently refurbished we were pleased to see that whilst providing modern facilities the historic features of the hotel that attract us have been tastefully retained.   The hotel is located in a wonderful part of old town Salzburg, making this part of town easily accessible on foot. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The recently renovated room was a perfect home away from home, especially after a long day of touring and tired feet. From the motion sensor floor night lighting to the comfortable bed and bath, the room was a welcome to relax in after a long day in and around Salzburg.

  Only thing to be aware of is that the location is perfect and that means lots of tourists! We were there at the end of September and it was ok but it can get crowded in the lively street that the Hotel is located in. Rooms are the right mix of old world charm with all the modern conveniences! The staff is exceptional and they will go out of their way to provide superb service.

  From arriving to leaving the hotel the care and attention given by all the staff was exceptional. This is a beautiful hotel in a central location. We stayed in room 9 which had great features - lights in wardrobes, bath and large walk in shower, very comfortable bed. We eat at the restaurant twice staff and food were very good. I would not stay anywhere else In Salzberg.

  The Goldener Hirsch was one of my aspirational properties in The Luxury Collection's portfolio, so when my travel plans shifted to allow a night in Salzburg, this was my natural choice. I had read many reviews about the hotel's historical charm, unparalleled ambience and personal service, so my expectations were naturally very high. As an Ambassador member, I was pre-upgraded to a two-bedroom suite the morning of my arrival, and was excited by the thought of what lay ahead. Upon check-in, the agent assigned us a one-bedroom suite and upon my showing him what the app said, he said that the one-bedroom suites are two-bedroom since the living room can double up as another bedroom. This did not leave a favorable first impression with the service, but - at the risk of sounding picky - it would repeat itself with the lack of any form of in-room welcome amenity, a feature I personally appreciate. I have stayed at many luxury properties in the Marriott family, but this was the first time I had checked into a hotel of this level that did not even have a welcome letter/card. Properties in the upscale and upper-upscale tiers have historically gone further with everything from fruit platters and chocolates to wine, but none of this was present at what I had always read and believed to be one of the finest properties in the world. Another disappointment came with regards to dinner reservations: while we were staying at the hotel during the Salzburg Festival, a high-pressure time for the city, we were told that there was no space for dinner at either of the hotel's restaurants or bar and were instead recommended another, more casual restaurant down the Getreidegasse. In my experience, luxury hotels of this caliber would at the very least hold a small number of tables for their most elite guests or try to arrange something alternative or creative, but no such effort to accommodate us was made here. The property has just come off a major renovation, and it shows - the hard product is indeed beautiful [despite the bathtub-only bathroom, which I always find a risky fitting] and modern, while retaining its traditional Austrian spirit. Food was top-notch, and the building itself is unmatched for the atmosphere it provides. Luxury, however, is ultimately delivered by the people delivering it, and I couldn't help but feel that the service delivery here was impersonal, and as such detracted from what I had hoped would be an experience to fondly remember.

  Bel hôtel 5 étoiles traditionnel au centre de Salzbourg. Tout est très classique et "rustique" meublé. Le service est tout simplement génial. Je tiens particulièrement à souligner l'excellente cuisine. Tout simplement excellent. Les portions sont bien sûr gérables et malheureusement très chères. Les prix des chambres sont également de catégorie supérieure mais il faut en être conscient dans un hôtel 5 étoiles. Moins adapté à ceux qui décident sur l'impulsion du moment, car il est très occupé. Planifiez mieux et réservez longtemps à l'avance. Une belle expérience dans un cadre magique. Nous recommandons.

  I travelled with family on this long trip and stayed one night at this hotel. Everything was great, especially the staffs are really friendly and helpful. And must say it is indeed a beautiful property. However when I walked into my room that I noticed someone has smoked inside. I have told the staff and they have made an immediate check up, offered to change, I did not mind and couldn't be bothered so stayed over that night. I appreciated their quick and friendly respond. Next time should check the room carefully after every guest leave...

  Stayed here as treat for my daughter's 18th. My sister travelled with us - we're all Sound of Music fans. Two lovely rooms next door to one another, so handy for our group. Really liked the traditional décor with stag embroidery. Rooms over looked Getreidegasse so perfect location. Staff all very helpful, polite and patient - I thought some of other guests rude. Reception staff spoke excellent English so I didn't need to refresh my rusty German. Salzburg a beautiful city and this hotel the icing on the cake!

  Conveniently located in the middle of the historical shopping area and short walking distance to the fortress and all tourist sights. The rooms have antique furniture. The staff is very friendly and eager to please. Food at the restaurants use high quality ingredients and are expertly prepared. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. The only suggestion is that the hotel should alert guests that the front entrance does not allow vehicle traffic unless the vehicle has a special permit. So, if you arrive by taxi, you may have to walk about 15 meters to get to the hotel, not a problem normally, but can be less convenient if you arrive late at night or in the rain. Alternatively, you can ask the taxi to drop you off at the backside of the hotel or the street entrance to the Goldener Hirsh Restaurant where you can enter the hotel directly.

  Aside from friendly, experiences, able-to-do staff, this hotel provides a superior accommodation experience. We had a well equipped, clean and quaint room. The breakfast offerings are outstanding in variety and quality. The location of the hotel inside the Altstadt is just fantastic for on-foot discovery of the local highlights.. Will return to this hotel again, when returning to Salzburg.

  My girlfriend and I visited Salzburg last year and decided to come back again this year. This time we stayed at the Goldener Hirsch to be close to the old town. First of all, the location is excellent! The experience we had with the staff was beyond excellent. My girlfriend always comments how the service at the Marriott and Starwood properties is excellent and again our expectations were exceeded. We ate at both the bar and in The Herzl restaurant. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite, room number 70. The furnishings were of traditional Austrian country style and the room was very comfortable. If I can make one suggestion it would be to put a thicker mattress cover or pad on the bed. The bed was very hard with little give. We slept ok, but tossed and turned a lot. Overall, I give this hotel a 5 rating and highly recommend it to others.

At check in, I was recognized for my status (lifetime platinum) because i had called the SPG Concierge and made sure that they contacted the hotel with my SPG number and status. I was told by the check in person that because of a group booking i would not get any points for the stay nor any platinum amenities like an upgraded room, bonus points or water or breakfast (already included with my group). Hmmm, well okay. I was however handed a separate packet that when i looked at it, contained a letter thanking me for my loyalty and gave me a list of things i could spend my points on at the hotel. Now that was a first for me. The absolute best thing about the hotel was its location, not sure there is a better place in the city for shopping, dining, bars, etc. Room was very spacious, bathroom amenities (towels, soaps, etc.) were nice. In Europe, twin beds pulled together make a king so for those from the states use to big king comfortable king, this is a step down. Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the busy alley/street and that made for noisy nights since they had shut the air conditioning down as summer was over. So all in all, I rated this property a 4 being fair, if I had made the first couple of paragraphs the focal point for the score, it would have been lower but as a seasoned traveled and one who frequently does reviews, the 4 is again fair.

  The hotel itself is wonderful. I love the traditional and historical furniture in the room and the whole place. I felt extremely comfortable and cozy. The Concierges Manuel and Thomas did a great job. They made brilliant recommendations and thanks to them I did not feel lonely even though I was travelling alone. A big thank you to the whole team.

  I have a perfect vocation 3 days and 2 nights in Salzburg and stay at this perfect hotel at Hotel Goldener Hirsch. As SPG gold member, my room is upgraded to be very big room and very nice that I have never seen before. The hotel location is awesome because it is the heart of old town of Salzburg so I can walk easily to Mozart house, Fortress Hohensalzburg and many attractions. But the most important thing in this trip is not big room or excellent facilities, the excellent service from every hotel staffs is the best thing I have received throughout this trip. Thank you again for everything and thank you very much to every staffs!

  We had a very nice stay in Salzburg. The staff at the reception was very friendly and welcomed us as Platinum Guest. Our room was a nice suite. The breakfast choice was fresh and delicious. Unfortunately there were no choices for gluten free bread and cereals so far. The location itself is pretty and located in the middle of the oldtown. We can definitely recommend this place

  First and foremost the location of this hotel is as good as it gets. Right in the middle of old town, restaurants of all persuasions within a one minute walk, it really has a marvellous position. Next and just as important are the staff. Absolute perfection . Nothing is too much trouble. All spoke perfect English and could help with any issues. We loved the little treats they left for us in the room too. The hotel is only a minutes walk to the river and those that love to work out can run forever along the river with magnificent views. There isn't a gym which is one let down. The breakfast is unique in that it is not vast, but what is lacks in variety, it makes up for in quality. My recommendation is order the omelet. Just perfection. We loved our stay and the originality of the hotel and the service commitment of the staff.

  We could not have enjoyed our stay more! The hotel is a great combination of old buildings with interesting rooms, hidden passages and delights everywhere. Staff were very attentive, food was outstanding and we had no problems at all during our stay. We enjoyed our upgraded room (#5, facing the front of the hotel with only one other room on our floor) and recommend it highly. Kudos and thanks to all the staff!

  If you are looking to have a very Austrian feel to your stay, you cannot find a better hotel than this. Our room was wonderful. We loved every inch of it! The furniture was precious, the beds extremely comfortable and the amenities outstanding. The hotel is 600 years old but is beautifully maintained. The staff was incredible. One of the best I have ever encountered and I travel frequently. The breakfast was a bit over priced, but this was my only concern. My family and I loved the Goldener and will return soon. It is situated in the perfect location to walk to the local attractions.

  Hotel Goldener Hirsch is not your typical "luxury" hotel. There is no spa, no fancy entryway, and no swank bar for evening cocktails. That being said I LOVE this hotel for the history (opened in 1564) and the uniqueness of maintaining old world style (like real, heavy, room keys). We were upgraded to a suite with a separate sitting room, which faced the inner couryard. The view was nothing to look at, but the room was quiet and secluded. The breakfast which is served on the 2nd floor for SPG elite was not as elaborate as some other hotels in Europe but they covered the standard fare with mueslix, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, pastry (of course)...I think there were eggs too. We could also order order breakfast so nobody went hungry. If you stay, be sure to poke around the hotel and read up on the history. Getting to our room was a bit like navigating a maze, and the heavy doors were a challenge to unlock. I wouldn't change a thing, though. We came here during the Christmas markets and the hotel is a brisk 5 minute walk to the town square.

  Our two night stay at the Goldener Hirsch was delightful. When we arrived we were informed that our room had been upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. The room itself was large, comfortable, and clean and reeking with charming atmosphere. The location in the aldstadt, or old town, on one of the most fashionable streets in town, cannot be surpassed. Within walking distance of all the tourist sites in the old town and the new, it is also not far from the funicular railroad to the castle fortress. The staff was friendly and welcoming and everyone spoke excellent English. Our only minor complaint might be that the floors in our room squeaked so loudly when we woke up to use the bathroom that it sounded like we would wake some of the ghosts that might be hanging around the hotel which we were told dates back to the 15th century. Or maybe that just added to the charm. A wonderful stay!

  The hotel is old and creaky but that is one of the cool things about it. Our rooms were one upgrade and they were large and quite comfortable. The bathrooms were completely modern with thick fluffy towels. The location was good on the pedestrian street and walking distance to most things. The hotel is for short people, we had to duck going on the stairs which we learned the hard way by banging our heads. Felt that staff should have told us. The problem we encountered was the taxi from Munich had trouble getting to the hotel. We went to the back by the restaurant and he was given instructions in German to go to the "garage" in front. What they should have said was that it was a pedestrian street and the hotel would lower the barricades to let the taxi in. This was a huge miscommunication and we circled for 30 mins after a long drive from Munich. Finally we said just dump us at the back by the restaurant and we will walk. Staff was helpful with bags but would have preferred not to do that. Felt it was not taxi driver's fault-hotel should make people aware of how to get access. However, once we made it in we really enjoyed this hotel's contribution to our wonderful Salzburg experience.

  I can confidently recommend this hotel. We stayed as a family for four nights and found the accommodation both delightful and comfortable. Our room was situated alongside a busy street - however no obtrusive noise could be heard in our room and the window curtains were thick enough to totally block outside light. No noise could be heard from adjacent rooms. The room had good adjustable air-conditioning. The hotel is situated in the heart of the baroque quarter of the city - you can walk to most of the famous attractions including the castle. There are also many good cafes and restaurants very close to the hotel which means you can eat out for all of your meals - including breakfast - if you so desire. The hotel staff are kind and friendly and never without a smile for you. Believe me when I say these small touches can make all the difference to your stay in an hotel. All-in-all a very excellent establishment.

  Stayed here with the family after New Year and cannot rave enough about it. We had two rooms on the second floor overlooking the front and they were great with lots of old world charm and quirkiness. We ate in Herzl the more casual of the two on-site restaurants , it was great. The front desk team were exceptional. One of the nicest hotel stays I have ever had and I travel for business extensively and stay in great (and not so great) hotels all over the world. Salzburg, and especially the team at this hotel, was a fantastic experience!

  On holiday celebrating our 25th anniversary. Service was exceptional, highlighted by several other unexpected personal touches like the 2 large connected suites worked very well for us and the kids. Excellent location, close to all the attractions. The front desk and concierge were very helpful. The kids said that that this was one of their best hotels they have stayed at (and they have visited a lot of places). Thank you SA (Boston, USA)

  We had a fabulous stay at this hotel Sept 4-9, 2012. We were doubly upgraded with our Starwood points to Room 57, top floor. It was a quasi-suite with a sitting area, 2 twins pushed together and a galley-type bathroom. A/C was good. Bathroom was good with 2 sinks and large countertop. Shower curtain liner a bit moldy at bottom, but nothing to be concerned about. Perfect location, close to Old Town sites, restaurants, buses (out back of the hotel), etc. etc. Can't say enough good about this hotel. Yes, we will recommend it and would stay here again.

  Stayed at the Hotel Goldener Hirsch for two nights and was hugely impressed and satisfied with the service, facilities and overall charm of the property, and of Salzburg. The building is utterly charming, and whilst it is very old, it is beautifully maintained. The quality of the furnishings and materials are outstanding and the cleanliness is exemplary. The staff throughout the hotel provide warm hospitality and a consistently high level of friendly and personalised service. Guests expecting a contemporary hotel will be disappointed, but those expecting great customer service and quality accommodations in an unbeatable location will be happy with this choice. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

  I have stayed at the Goldener Hirsch twice and cannot wait to stay there again some day. The hotel is truly unique and is something to experience. The actual hotel is beautiful and full of character and is a nice break from a generic modern hotel. The rooms are great and very comfortable. The bathrooms are large and have nice ammenities too. The hotel is very old, but in my opinion is perfectly maintained. The hotel staff are very friendly and provided great Austrian hospitality. I had both dinner and breakfasts at the hotel and was pleased with the high quality, which is hard to find in a hotel restaurant. The hotel just has so much individuality, it is one of my favorite hotels, and probably my favorite Starwood property I have stayed at to date. The pictures do not do it justice, it is just an exceptional example of a hotel. The location is about the best in Salzburg, too.

  The traditional style of this very special hotel is certainly not for everone. If you like modern, chic comfort you may want to look for something else. This hotel has an extremely old and wooden style.. I personally really enjoyed the hotel. The service is outstanding, and they really went above and beyond to ensure we got a great suite upgrade as platinum members. This is how to treat your most loyal customers! The location is great for first time visitors, smack in the middle of the old town. Our suite was clean and surprisingly quiet even though on the second floor and facing a busy street. The hotel has a lot of interesting areas, and we even found a well hidden business center with free nespresso coffee and computers. Any cons? Well, they shold get new blinders or larger curtains. The ones in our room were way too small to shut out light. Plus, we were awoken by some furniture moving noices from above at 7am in the morning. But all in all a lovely and special hotel. Do not hesitate to try it!
